Hello. I am looking into getting a Titaneze double tank stand, the 75 gallon one. I hear they are somewhat wobbly. I plan to have a half filled 90 gallon tank on top and a completely filled 55 on the bottom, so it isn’t so top heavy. Does anyone have experience with these stands?

I would say they are OK if you were to use it as advertised, but a 75g double stand isn’t meant to hold a 90g, regardless of how top heavy it is or is not.

$200 for a flimsy stand when you can build a sturdy one by yourself for 1/10 the price?
all you need is a saw (table saw or if you make precise and accurate cuts you can use a regular circular saw) and a powerful drill
even if you have to buy the tools, it's cheaper than having to buy a pre-built stand which is crazy

i just looked at the photos of the stand too, i can tell that it's a time bomb
there's nothing on there to stop it from wobbling around

A 90 gallon is the same bass dimension as a 75, simply 3 inches taller. Wether it was meant to hold the weight or not, if it’s only half filled it wouldn’t be a problem.

Ah ok. Thanks! The prices of wood have gone up so insanely recently, but I’ll price it and look into building one myself!

Make sure you are placing your stand carefully too. I have heard a couple of horror stories of people getting a double 55 or 75 stand and the floor being damaged over time from the combined weight on the four little feet. I don't think I would get a double stand for anything larger than a 29 gallon.

My tanks are in my bedroom, which is on the ground floor. The floor is concrete, but there is carpet over it (I know because I helped rip out the old carpet and install the new one)

Nice and secure then! That would actually be really reassuring. I live in a 70 year old, rundown apartment building.

I am aware of that, but it’s also more too heavy. (I realize you having the completely filled 55g on the bottom might counteract it, but you might still have it fall)

A DIY stand is usually a LOT cheaper. Good luck finding cheap lumber though… it’s insane prices these days.

Yeahhhhhhhhh. Well darn. Thanks!

A simple design, can be built to whatever dimensions you wish

Ooooooooooo thanks! At what length would I need to add supports in the center/towards the middle?
I'd add center supports, regardless of length...built one just like this for my 40B...extremely sturdy

Ok, thank you! If I’m trying to make it a double tank stand, how would I get the support I needed while still making room for the tank on the bottom?
