Anyone have experience with double tank stands?

The bottom frame can be topped with plywood; is that what you are asking?

Many people use this basic design, then make it a closed cabinet stand with plywood on all sides, doors on the front

I just left mine open, painted black

I mean if there are center supports, how can I have a second tank on the bottom? The center supports go up and down and you place them in the center right? Like this (I added a black line) I may misunderstand what a center support is though

Oh...I thought you were referring to the crossmembers, top and bottom, from front to back

For a 4 foot long stand, you wouldn't need them...this thing is made with 2 X 4's and 2 X 6's, extremely sturdy (and heavy, BTW) ;)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ok! Thanks! Sorry for the confusiono_O

i always put a center support on my 4 foot+ stands because i only use 2x4s and don't want the stand to bow, although that probably won't happen with 2x6
and you'd need to edit that design for a rack, search up a 90 and 55 stand rack, don't try to come up with a design by yourself

I found a YouTube video on how to build a double tank stand for a 125, could I edit the dimensions for that build to suit my size but keep the same design for structural safety and such?

I had two cast iron double 55 gallon stands with tanks on each shelf. The lower tanks were really too low, hard to siphon water.
