Hrm, presuming the light is fixed, you could potentially squeeze an Azoo Mignon 60 or Aqua Vital 160 next to it (which are 3.5" across) or go for something bigger at the side.

how often do you have to water change these tanks without a filter mel?

I do each tank once every 5-7 days

Deadly Nightshades in one of these, he much prefers to his optional 19 litre,

I really like the cubes, id buy more but its starting to get rediculous in my room atm, i have a Fluval Roma 125, a Jewel Lido 100 with a puffer, 2 19 litre tanks housing 2 crowntails & the cube with Deadly,

all of which seem to be much happier in the smaller tank, i swap them around here and there, is it unsusual for bettas to not get stressed? as mine dont ever show a Horizontal stripe only deadly when i first got him in the mail, all washed up!

It's removable you can use the cube by itself but the light is overhead and not inside the tank hood. The light is slotted into a holder at the back of the tank that can be unslotted hence not having to use it at all if you don't want.

that's it you guys have convinced me.....first paypackt next month of my new job, i'm totally gonna buy one, and a new betta, i do have a spare tank coming up, but I think my better half is assuming we're going to get something new and interesting, like red crabs....lol
