Okay, i figuerd i would start a journal.
Here are the stats:
20 gallon flat hexagon tank
2 angelfish ( adults, gold)
ph: 8.4-8.6
Ammonia:0
Nitrite:0
Nitrate:10
Kh and Gh: To high to read on the test.

Decor: Almond Leaves ( to try and reduce the ph), 2 pieces of slate, and 1 piece of bog wood standing erect.

Now, they have breed once. They breed 5 hours after introduction to the tank. Unfortunatley, non of the eggs made it past day 2=[

Well, this time, with Tolak's advice. Im raising them artaficially. I plan on putting the eggs in a jar, with a air pump in there, 6 drops of Methylene Blue, 1 drop of Acriflavin, and if i can get ahold of it, 1 drop of Maroxy. Sit the jar in the tank, and do 50 percent water changes daily. After they hatch, but them in the 30g tank, and add copper into the water. I'm just waiting for them to breed again, she is egging up again, and the tubes are beiong lowerd, and its been about 4 DAYS since they last layed!!!!!!!!!! * FINGERS CROSSED*

She is getting bigger. i Think they MAY spawn this Sat. We will see though. Im going to feed them some Black worms right now.

keep us posted krib my angels are just starting to pair off so im interested in how you do
regards scot :good:

Why all the chemicals? I've never had that bad a problem with eggs fungusing over to myself out enough to add three chemicals to the water.... Also what's the reasoning behind the copper?

^ I plan on seperating the eggs from the parents. Last time they were with the parents, they didnt do a sufficient job fanning, and the eggs went bad. So, im taking them away. Copper, i have no idea. Tolak has kept angels forever, and according to him, he gets the best hatch rate, and fry survival this way. I dont want to waste several batches of eggs trying to figure it out for myself.

Okay, updated pics. From about 20 min's ago. They are ready to lay any day. It's just a matter of time.

Female, back view to show how plump she is:

They spawned. Again! About 300-400 hundred eggs. NOt on the PVC. The tank wall, again. I put in 40 drops of meth blue ( so i didnt hurt he fish), and 20 drops of Acriflavin. Pics will be up soon. Fingers crossed!

EDIT: The meds made the water too dark to get a pic of the eggs.

Your quite optimistic! Im not 100 percent sure he is a fertile male. Besides, when spawning on a complete verticle surface, the law of gravity comesinto place and pulls the sperm down, not on the eggs. We'll see!

I finally got a pic of the eggs. Not the best quality ( the camera has been acting up!). Here it is:

As you can see, several have already gone white!

Tolak also breeds and raises on a much bigger scale, so will have room to accomodate a huge spawn with near on full success rate. Where as in your position I'd be aiming for quality not quanity.

That im aware of. I just want to get them to hatch. Im having a hard time with that right now! I dont plan on selling millinos, i plan on raising about 20 to selling size. That means alot of culling.

I didn't start out with all this gear. A pair of silvers & a few used 20's & 10's. It grows over time.

Thats good. I would have thought you were crazy if you started out with everything you have atm. I hoked up a airstone int he tank and it is floating directly under the eggs. So, some might make it.
