Top Gear bores the life out of me due to the extremely poor scripted scenes the almost continuous predictability about the show adds to the boredom this show creates. The "setup" with the "Hamster", James May and Clarkson with their little dumb circle is just annoying. I use to like it maybe 3/5 years ago when the events weren't so stupid perhaps the one driving across africa was interesting. The American one would of been funny if it were not that it was all poorly staged.

Fifth gear however, you actually learn something a fact you can take away and apply to the real world.

I don't find poorly staged and predictable gimmicks funny. Pushing off a camping van from a cliff and pretending like they didn't know it was going to roll over the edge, clarkson acting as if he didn't know what it was... I can't possibly find it funny, rather than being presenters they are no actors and it has ruined top gear. When they were at least a little believable it was ok.

For those who pay attention, ben Collins has been on top gear as himself before. He was one of the drivers when they played football with the Toyota aygo. I'm sure he was also involved in the motorhome racing and the buses too.
