Hey guys,i have recently bought a 10 gal fish tank and started cycling it  the sad thing is,my lfs tricked me into buying a small HOB filter (weird tho, you'd expect theyd want you to spend more and buy the bigger ones),i just checked the site and its capacity is 66 gal/h,this may seem okay but i've heard that thats a maximum and wont normally reach that number. Good thing i havent stocked it with fish yet,but i plan on getting around 10 pieces of fish (bettas, corys and neon tetras). Do you guys suggest i buy another filter? or is this current one okay? Here is the specific link to the filter i have:

id appreciate any replies thanks

Is this the 10 gallon you're intending to put a Betta in? I believe (through lots of reading) that Bettas don't like a large flow of water. Some people go as far as dumping the standard HOB or internal filter and make a small sponge filter.

As you're (I think) already cycling this filter go with it, let the cycle finish, stock the tank and keep a close eye on the water parameters for a few weeks. You can do more frequent water changes and make a decision from there.

I would ask in the Betta forum too - they are more likely to know the actual requirements for a Betta.

yes the betta stay in there,i have consulted the betta section too bout the stocking of fishes, what im asking is,would the filter i bought be sufficient to keep proper aeration and filtration of the tank? I know it depends on my stock but in general. I just panicked when i saw on the website that it says its recommended for tanks around 3 gals or so.

A 66 gph filter on a 10 gallon tank is plenty of filter flow. Since most filters are sized in proportion to their flow, it probably has enough filter media in it as well.
