hi guys back again those who remember me from last time

i lost my ammonia test kit card which shows ammonia level its a aqauriumpharm test kit (api) does anyone know the linkfor colour codes ?

also i have a 2.5yr old tank (54l) now currently housing

one giant danio 2 rasbora (i link these because they shoal together and because of the giant danios behavior problems leading to the extinction of the other rasbora and giant danios that made up my original tank)
3 albino corys
4 kuhli loachs
4 zebra danios
am i over stocked also can acrylic tanks have heaters if so i have a 5 gallon spare tank and a suitable heater suggestion for it would be good tooo

sorry i know im asking a lot but alittle help would be most appreciated :)

ammonia test card

I would say that the giant danio would outgrow that tank, as they can get to 15cm? how long have you had him?

otherwise id say stocking is fine maybe add a couple more rasbora

what are teh dimensions of the tank?

acrylic tanks can have heaters just make sure any part of it isnt resting on the acrylic bit, a 25w heater is good

=]

guess hes not a giant danio hes as old as the tank when i got hiim and hes max 3.5in now probs a subspecies of danio then

its 60CMx30CMx30cm rectangular

ooo my ammonias .25 and my ph is 8 woops performed a 1/4 water change after that score

Have you ever seen your tank at 0 ammonia? For now, keep doing the waterchanges until you read 0 ammonia, but up the amount to at least 50%. Also, only feed every other day until you can get your filter bacteria caught back up with the fish waste. Don't worry, they won't starve :)

To try and pin this down as to why this has happened, did you forget to add dechlorinatior or rinse your filter media in tap water? Have you added any fish lately?

i added 4 kuhlis loachs two days ago....

never been much into this whole ammonia testing lark first time i did it yesterday hence why i lost the colour card. i have read most things on the forum now so i know bad thing not to do.

filter media is green.

It seems that you might have triggered a small mini cycle when you added the new fish. Your filter bacteria should catch up pretty fast. Keep testing and doing waterchanges when your ammonia and/or nitrite get above .25 ppm.
