Hey guys,

Just been digging through my old aquarium stash and found two test kits. One for ammonia and another for nitrite they must be 4-5 years old now... Should they still be reliable ?

Thanks in advance,

Graham

They do yes, the API Freshwater Master Kit is 3 years i think. Thats the only one i use so i cannot comment on other.

They should have a use by date on them somewhere. Personally if they are that old I would buy some new ones.

They do indeed expire. There is a date on the bottle, but I can't remember if it's an expiration date or the date it was bottled. Best to check on their website.

Def no expiration date on the bottles... I'm going to borrow a friends test kit and compare results (just out of curiosity) before i go buying another ! I'll let you know how it turns out :)
