I don't think you have to ban the talk of 'competeing sites' on this site. Thats liek making your own little beautiful world around you and refusing to thinking of other things or possibilities out there. This isn't the only site that I visit, I visit a few others, esspecailly if they deal with just a certain species of fish, like a puffer forum or a molly forum...ext. You don't have to feel threatened by other sites William, its not like people are telling others to come to their own sites to take away from yours...they're probably just beginers and are sick of seeing blank forums on their screen....

I know about that, I was just commenting on what was said about teh rules. I understand why you would shut down the chat, but still, it wasn't teh whole community who said or did whatever it was in teh chat room, it was only 2 poeple, and yes, please don't punish us for what two single peopel did for too long of a time.

oh dear, well I hope its for a while. I met so many nice people there willing to help me and chat politely, however I had never seen abusive behaviour or campaigns advertising there. Hope the chats come back on soon.

well if i remember correctly, these 2 ppl, who i know you are referring to used to be very much respected members who were loved my many on this forum, and also contributed greatly to this forum. So it's not like they just joined and posted nothing but ads. I would think that you would have been atleast somewhat happy for them at even finally getting there site up and running. Now i will agree that the whole pm thing might have been a little far, but instead of ruining this friendship w/ bickering of who will be the best why not work together and each have a link to each others forum on yours. I mean i am a member to several forums and i do contribute to all of them. I don't think that um "the 2 ppl" were trying in the slightest to "steal" your members but instead just share them with you. And i'm sure that what ppl on your forum that joined "the 2 ppl's" forum, would agree w/ me that they still check out both forums. I mean i am a mod on "the 2 ppl's" forum but that doesn't stop me from coming here and checking things out on a daily basis. I mean seriously, all the old timers on this forum who have been here for some time should remember a time when "the 2 ppl" were active contributers here and i think that is one of the main reasons that they told ppl on your forum about theres, because lots of the ppl here know them. And did u even talk to them about this?? Because from what I herd they were just banned and not even given the chance to defend themselves. Just banned and had a thread posted about them. I seriously think everybody involved in this little drama that has far been blown out of proportion needs to grow up a little bit and instead of just becoming enemies and saying u hate there guts, talk to eachother and work something out here. Even if u reasonably talk and decide to just go your seperate ways at least you won't be holding a grudge against these "2 ppl" and vice-vesa!!! peace..............

I believe the "2 people" were some way from being the worst offenders actually. The chat room was temporarily closed because of abuse. Personal abuse directed against members of the forum - not simply a bit of advertising/spamming.

The reason that the chat room was closed for a while was not the fact that the other forum exists or the fact that many of our members joined it. It was the abusive chat from them. We live in a free world and nobody here objects to any member joining and participating in another forum - input from another forum can often give a different light on subjects. But when people decide to become abusive and advertise for free then it's a different story. William has put time and money into this site and if anyone wants to advertise their own site, why don't they get in touch with William or any of the mods and offer to pay something towards the costs. Jumping in on a freebie is not accepted anywhere - if we tried to advertise this site on any other, without prior permission or payment, the admins there would quickly kick us out. The rules for one site apply to all sites. This site, in my opinion, is one of the most popular and successful ones that exist (as can be seen by the number of members that grows daily) and that's the way we want to keep it. Xxzsdrklakdfj, you have heard just one side of the story - why don't you find out the true facts before you pass judgement on William.

Here are my 2 cents. William, you've done an excellent job on this website, I've been in several forums and none of them really sparked my attention as of yours did. This is how I think you feel with out going into great great detail.
You placed allot of work on this forum and money that came from your own wallet, and you worked hard with out disrespecting another persons forum or website to advertise your work, since someone was using your hard work to form their own forums frustrates and saddens you, because not only are they getting an easy ride to success they're doing it at the expense of others " you "...
people, I support william on his actions towards the 2 individuals no matter how long they've been a member, because it was inappropriate and rude to hitch a ride especially knowing how they didn't even ask permission. William is responding by upgrading a chat service to avoid this from happening again, he isn't really doing it as a punishment towards any one if you read. It's just like when 9/11 occurred, they needed to take allot more precautions to avoid another twin tower incident... think about it... Imagine how william feels, what if you were in his shoes?

The "two" people that everyone seems to think we are talking about were not the abusive ones though advertising their site through this ones chatroom was a bit cheeky and i had warned them several times that it wasnt on. The abusers were members of yet another forum who from the outset of setting their forum up have been trying to put this one down as much as possible and wrote some really insulting stuff about William and some of the mods here, which i had the pleasure of reading yesterday, i would post some of it here but this is a family forum and i wouldnt want any of my family having to read it.

naw, that's not what i meant in the least. i think that the situation in general was handled wrong. And me being a mod on the 2ppls forum i know that most of my info has come from "that point of view" but i know and understand there is allways two sides to every story! and i also know that on ea. side of the story it's ALLWAYS the other persons fault. And i'm in no way "passing judgement" on will, because that is FAR from my place. All i'm saying is will is talking to the wrong ppl about this. Now from what i have heard from the other parties involved will has never gotten in touch w/ them. And i think that they should privately discuss their problems amongst themselves instead of going on w/ this grudge ALL of them are carrying against the other!!! Even if they just reasonably come to the conclusion to just wish eachothers site good luck and never speak again. At least it will be over and done with! Peace......

well the reason the "2 ppl" that ppl are thinking it is, but it really isn't (hope that maks sense ) ppl are thinking it is them because when they went to get on here i it said that they could not view this forum untill 2006. SO that is why ppl are thinking it was them. peace.....
