an attack? what! that did you miss the whole point of my post? it was to stop all the aggressiveness going on in this thread. what is the point in arguing on the internet because at the end of the day i can just switch my computer off. and this is a public forum so everything concerns everyone. i agree that sometimes people don't listen to much of your CORRECT advice but when they don't and decide to what they want. you can't start taking it personally.
i'm not here to make enemies but learn about my favorite hobby.

I agree that this little argument shouldn't have started. At the end of the day this is a public forum and peoples opinions are their own.

But I can totally see why Jen reacted.
I genuinely believe it was never about who is 'right' or 'wrong' in their own opinion. But more to do with a worry that the OP was asking a question and being given bad advise.
Ie. The future fish's quality of life was what sparked all of this.

Anyways... I'm not taking sides, there aren't any sides to take! :)
But I would like to say I've never seen this 'angry' side of Jen and I've been on plenty of threads with him before now!

This thread isnt an argument, it ended up me saying somethink and sticking by what i said and then another member coming along and telling me ive said things which i really havent and then getting quite nasty and abusive about it, not one to sit back my friend and let somebody try to make me look silly when he has actually said the basic same things but worded different lol.

You dont like it, dont read it same as all my posts, if im correct as you say when i give information and then that information is not taken after 3-4 attepts at giving it to them nicley then im sorry but bluntness usually gets a reaction, a reaction usually gets results... if i can make my point in the end when the health of fish are involved then thats good enough for me even if i do offend.

i will read your posts as i find near enough all of them very informative as i am very interested in pleco's as you are. i was just trying to bring to your attention, how in some circumstances you could easily offend people, (which as you have stated you are ok with) i am agreed with you when its a creatures well being and that we should all try our best to help advise the person the correct way to go.

i do apologise to you that i mgith have come across that i was attacking you when i was only trying to bring something to your attention.

i hope for the shake of the forum that we can get along and have a friendly forum.

m8 meet me in person, im the friendliest person you will ever meet, i just dont like people trying to start somethink and then try make me look silly and then the end result of it all say the same things as i said throughout the whole thread just worded differently lol, if you read the thread from beginning to end and then look at what i said to what i was claimed to have said you would totally agree and understand where i was coming from.

No appologises needed m8, i dont take things personally same as i have no ill feelings against t1tanrush, i dont agree with his way of telling me im wrong but hey who cares deep down lol.. but i will show my disaprovement to certain comments ;)

i feel much better now. tbh i hate having confrontations. but i do think you could keep a oscar in a 65.

nah i'm just kidding. i dunno :S

LOL..... im gonna try a whale shark :p..... but nah m8 seriously no hard feelings, lifes way to short for that :)

I don't think it matters what forum you go on. Tank sizes for oscars always seems to be a hotly debated topic ;). I have had my oscar for 3 years now in a 70g with a green terrror. My oscar is healthy, as is the terror. If my oscar had grown to 15" maybe I would have problems, but personally I have not seen a lot that size and a few fish people I've talked with believe that the quality of oscars in the pet trade has gone down and with it, their max sizes. Again, this is someone else's opinion, not my own. But at 11" my oscar is doing fine (and no he/she is not stunted). With regular water changes and good filtration I think 65g would be fine. Some forums give 55g as the min!

Oscar keepers and lovers all tend to disagree about the minimum size tank to keep one, its also the same with Severums, Im off a PERSONAL opinion, that a 75g (4ft x 18" wide) tank is the minimum for both species. No matter how many times I post it when the question is asked, there will always be someone who thinks differently or keeps one in smaller and thinks its ok to do so, you can only hope that the person asking the question takes the correct advice and not the advice they want to hear in order to keep the fish, regardless of the health and longterm happiness of the fish in question.

On another note, Jenclibee (Mark) is a very nice person, we've met and he isnt a weirdo as claimed by some in other recent threads, nor deliberately trying to start an arguement. He does however, normally :)lol:) know what he's talking about and at the end of the day, is only giving the advice for the health of the fish, as we all do, after all thats why we come here, unfortunately not all members are the same and enjoy causing arguements, deliberately starting threads to annoy long term members and generally making a nuisance of themselves. One of the reasons we have lost a good member from here lately and quite frankly one of the reasons I cant be bothered to post much right now.

I totally agree with you hun, i think t1tanrush misunderstood my OWN personal preference to what i would have kept an oscar in.... over what i actually initially said an oscar should be kept in.

I agree with what you say some memebers just like to continue an argument, i guess to a certain degree i am one of them... however in this thread defending myself against a memeber deliberatley trying re-word my posts as though im wrong but basically wording his own answers so they are different but still meaning the same.

Thanks for the not weirdo part lol...(i am a little) :p......but i totally agree with the basic way the forum is going l8ly in the sense that long standing regular posting memebers are feeling the need to leave becasue of this sort of stuff that goes on, you try to help the best you can and for the fish is well being and you get told that your wrong... and not only wrong but told that your wrong from the OP that asks the question  (not in this thread but others), makes you think why do we bother.... and it's becoming to get to the point now like you say, cant be bothered anymore.

Anyways i think that it for me and this thread, t1tanrush obviously has superior knowledge over mine despite agreeing with what i initially said, so to the OP sorry your thread ended up like so many others l8ly.

Hope you get some nice fish whichever you chose :)
