Depends on what you mean by 'African Leaf Fish'.
There are a number of fish coming out of Africa that are labeled as 'leaf fish'.
Polycentropsis abbreviata - the 'African leaf fish' and Afronandus sheljuzhkoi - the 'Fourspine African leaf fish' are both members of the family Nandidae and are very similar to the species of 'Asian leaf fish' (genus Nandus). The African members of the family tend to be very shy ambush hunters and it is very difficult to get them to eat anything but smaller live fish. Afronandus sheljuzhkoi is very uncommon so if you actually have one of the Nandids it is probably Polycentropsis.
Lately there have been a number of stores selling the 'Spotted African leaf fish' which isn't actually a leaf fish at all. Instead it is an African labyrinth fish (related to bettas and gouramis) called Ctenopoma acutirostre and sometimes called the 'Leopard bush fish'. These fish are a bit less secretive than the African Nandids but they are also ambush hunters and, like the Nandids, are essentially loners. C. acutirostre is usually much easier to feed than either of the Nandids and individuals will often even take flake food.
