all forms of kribensis .... thomasi cichlids are also great there are loads of peacefull ones out there which you wont need to over stock your tank in order to lower the aggression

unfortuantely they can be massively innacurate, hence why the liquid ones are always recommended.

aww #29### will i order an api master freshwater liquid one? i will have to order a gh and kh one aswell wont i because the master set doesnt cover them

I've never tested for gh & kh. If your pH turns out to be in the higher sevens or 8, then it should be hard enough for African cichlids

ok mate thanks for that. just ordered a liquid test kit to be on the safe side hopefully it wont be too diferent to what the strips have shown me

I should have picked up on that and asked you, when you said test 'kit' I presumed you meant the liquid kit and not strips

sorry for the confusion. should have the liquid kit my monday-tuesday so will retest the PH and let you know.

liquid test kit arrived and my PH is 8.2. that should be perfect for cichlids shouldn't it? if i decide to get normal tropical fish will bogwood bring it down low enough or if i put bogwood in with cichlids will it lower it too much?
