Now that's what I would call spoiled!

actually, instead of dividing it in half, do any of you think a betta could get along with the other fish in my tank ok? i have 5 platies and around a dozen platy fry.
they are all mild mannered.

i can still divide it if need be, or maybe quarter it.

The betta might eat the fry. :/ Perhaps get the betta a smaller tank of its own? It may feel intimidated in such a large tank.

Anyway, sorry to hijack.

Back to wuv's thread. I would also pay shipping if you had any orange culls left

I would also gladly pay shipping for an orange one ;)

Not to rush, I'm just curious, when will these little guys be ready to ship?

*crosses fingers in hopes to get an orangey!*

Ok guys :D
I'm excited and I know a LOT of you have pm'ed me and I WILL get back to you. Being the mod of the ER forum, most of my pm answering time is spent in that area. I'll try to catch everybody ASAP, plus I have to have time to cruise the forum myself

Anyhoo. Right now I'm just waiting on my new containers to come in the mail (grrr!) so pics will be much easier on me. The jars they're in kinda make everything look blurry. And also...the bags.

Right now my plan is to post one pic up and give a brief detail and recommended housing for said fish. Whoever likes the look, can possibly cater to its needs (if any) and wants to pay shipping for it can just speak up. I'm assuming shipping should be no more than 7.00. I'll use a smaller box to make sure.If it's more, I'll cover it,less refund it etc. I do have a paypal account from my old eBay sales days, for those who asked. We can also do money orders, checks whatever. I'm in no hurry.

I'm still working out details. Julie has offered to help me come up with a fair way to make final decisions on the adoptees. Right now it stands at this..

I post a picture and somebody says, Yup. I want it, I'll pay shipping. Then done. He/she's theirs.

Ok, then, let's say, next there's one who's not quite so nice but he's pretty cute, but not worth the shipping price to you or anybody ( ) BUT...you're willing to give him a great home if he's completely free, then I have to pick an appropiriate home and I will pay for his shipping.

Sound ok so far? Please feel free to add any thoughts!

Man, if you can ship a fish for $7 why are people spending $40 to do it for the aquabid fish? :) Are people getting screwed or are they doing it extra quickly just as a precaution?

Yeah, that's just for overnight, precautionary reasons. Bettas are more commonly being shipped priority, most dealers usually offer that as an option.

yeah a lot of those people that charge 40 bucks are also adding in their shipping materials plus a small little bit for themselves ;)
if you are a breeder in canada for instance, you have to include your $50 border fee as you can't ship fish from canada to usa, you have to cross the border with your fish and ship them from the states. of course, you will usually send more than one package at a time when you do it so that $50 cost gets spread out. also, the shipping box costs money, it has to be done right with foam insulation etc. it all adds up.

I think it is a great idea, how much is the shipping? I just learned that my betta is blind I wondered why he never flared or anything, and he's been n the tank with his lady for a couple months now she's his eyes. I wondered why when i removed her he wouldnt eat, now I know he follows her to the food it's very unique. So that proves SPECIAL NEEDS bettas can have just as productive lives when given the chance.

It sounds like a wonderful idea, wuv. Do you know approximately how much it would cost to ship to Canada?

gingerbread27: Wuv said the shipping would be around $7.
