A Very English Spring

heres a pic of the stems at the back, you can't see them on the main pics...

When those stems become visible, the tank will take on a new character. I see it. :) This is a potential for competition, Ian. :good:

The stem in the corner that is the Ludwigia?

I'd be very careful where you put your heater. You absolutely sure you need it now? I don't heat my tanks unless it is very cold outside because we don't have heating in Miami.

I miss stems, with my RO/DI unit, I know I'll be able to create a better environment for them again using RO/tap mixtures. Can you imagine that ADA of mine as a Dutch?

thanks llj!

The stems are a Limnophilia varient, i don't know which one! That is an Aquafluer pot and they mark the pots as 'Special' and don't put the plant names on!

Rotala

Ludwigia Arcuata

Bacopa
and yes i need the heater, the tank is on a back wall and it does get cold at night.

Can you imagine that ADA of mine as a Dutch?

do it now!

All in good time, have to hook up the unit first. The nice thing is I can keep and reuse many of the plants, just remove most of the hardscape and add more stems. Something to consider after the Marine planted is up and running.

thats the easy thing about Dutch scapes (about the only thing that is!), no hardscape to worry about.

heres a quick vid of the tank tonight.

Great video. You're less wobbly. It's good to see you're laying off the CO2. :p I guess you need a clear head for when the baby comes. I'm teasing, you, I swear.

Love the dance music...

How is the ADA fertilizer? I'm curious. I looked up the price in the US and it isn't horrible. Affordable.

Looking good dude, now I've seen the stems I'm getting a really good feeling about this tank, hope it all goes well.

Liz! Dutch it now! I'm gonna do a dinky Dutch scape in a 35 litre soon, do like the variety of colours you get with Dutch scapes.

Gotta wait to setup the RO unit, then I'll consider it.

hahahaha, it's like a 5 year old spells how they say...it's Engilish

lol, do I get a gold star? :hyper: or a cookie maybe?! Actually I just brushed my teeth, maybe just a star for now... ;) :p

the scape is now one week old, give or take moving the wood!lol

The Hydrocotyle 'japan' seems to have taken a hit...I'm unsure whether its due to it's submersed growth, so will keep an eye on it. The Amano shrimp are on it constantly, which is a little ironic really.

The rest of the tank appears to be going from strength to strength. The stems are doing well, after one trim.

cheers SBS, the Hydrocotyle grows normally under really poor conditions, so i can only think it's the submerged conditions.
