A Few Questions

or i could put them in a 85x40x40(thats is in centermetres) which would hold about 136 litres?

i am pretty sure yous would say to put it in the bigger one!

jamie :D

 nah i am probably gunna use the bigger tank.

what i need to know do i have to get new lighting or can i just get new globes??

can someone tell me what fish i can get in there too?

jamie :)

chac that was great help i really appreciate it! i really like the royal gramma, firefish, clown
i was wondering if i could keep these together??i am pretty sure tat i wont be able to but can you do me a massive favour and write me a list of what i can keep together in the tank?
In a 120ltre (20UKg) then yes you could have a pair of Clowns, Royal Gramma & a pair of Firefish
i was going to get an UGF and put a powerhead on the pipe??woudl that be ok and i would probably put a submergible in there too.

UnderGravel Filters are not suited to Marine Tanks
and with the LR do you have to feed it??

NO
and what else am i going ot have to get?do i have to get another light or just a different globe??

What lighting are you using at the Mo?

ok..

i am not able to use the bigger tank as it has metal bracing things that hold the tank together :(

so looks like i am going to hav to go with the standard 2fter

so what could i keep in there??

my lighting is just a standard fluoroescent globe that you use in a FW tank.

any help is appreciated.

jamie :)

the bigger tank would be about 35-36 US gallons which would be a better size tank for saltwater. with this tank you would probably be able to house a pair of clowns. Also with this tank you could get a dwarf angel also which are very interesting fish.

What are the dimensions? I'm not sure what a standard 2fter is over there but i'd guess it's 2ft x 1ft x 1ft?

If so this is a 15gal and would normally hold 3 small fish.

If its 2ftx2ftx2ft then its 50 gallons and you can hold a whole lot more fish in this!

In a tank that you seem to be quoting however i would recomend a pygmy angel inpreference to a dwarf angel. Pygmys are smaller and thus will be far easier to keep in a small tank such aas this. (dwarfs can be kept but i think a little more experienc would be needed first).

Cherub angels
Flameback angels

These are a couple of nice pygmy angels that would fit well in this system.

You could also look at

Midas Blenny
6 Line wrasse
Vermiculate wrasse
Poison fang blenny
Cardinals
citrus gobies
clown gobies
catalina goboies
rock basslet

I dont mean that the tank will hold all of these but perhaps something in this list will help make you decide what you would like.

I think you will need better lighting than a standard bulb that comes with the tank.

ok i may be able to do a 2x1.5x1.5

i am able to get marine globes so that isnt a prob

i dont mind the midas blenny, poison fang blenny, can someone give me a pic of the cardinal, citrus gobie and the rock basslet??,clown goby, catalina goby 4 sure!!

thanks

Nav, what's the minimum size tank you'd reccomend for a flameback?

Hey Dan

I would say a min of a 25/30g UK

You thinking of getting one

Watch yer Corals :good:

Thinking about it when i upgrade, which will hopefully be at Xmas to a 25L with sump/refuge. Not going to go with the 50 as i might be off to uni in a year and don't want to leave a 50 for me mum  25 should be manageable but more fun than the 16

Corals are still doing great mate, the zoos died off though  The star polyps are growing and have about 10 more heads now :D Thanks again

They have a cherub and flameback down the LFS, prefer the flameback and have read it's more peaceful than the cherub.

I think your first choices of a clown, royal gramma, and firefish would be the best bet out of anything I have seen in your lists. All are great peaceful community fish of about the same size, different colors, and all hardy specimens good for a first tank.

As far as your lighting, it will be fine if you are going fish only, but needs to be upgraded if you want to do a reef setup. A good T5 or PC fixture would probabbly be the best for the smaller tank.
