WOOO he is eating some flakes now!! .... now all i have to do is get him to eat some bloodworms and his vibrant colors will arise from there long LONG slumber...

PS the fin muscles anyone have any idears on how much longer it will take for him to regain those?! cause it almost looks like he has bents swimming fins (the clear ones) do you think they will back anytime soon??

You don't want to overfeed him. Stop with the food for now, and feed him 2 more pellets in about three hours. Or just wait until tomorrow and feed him 3 pellets in the morning.

i know that he just hasnt eatin all day! and i wanted to feed him... sometimes he lets them flaot to soften them up and THEN he eats them!

^_^ thanks guys i want to be a savior :p and i want to let velvet be insapration to ALL the bettas (and other fish) that i save! and any mistakes i make with him (like dividing the tank  ) will be a lesson well learned!

here is an update pic of him!!

this morning i woke up and found him trying to move his lil clear fins!! YEY!! i really believe that he can pull through!

velvet isnt doing to good! he isnt breathing normally and he is slanted again :( i tried to help him but there isnt much that i could do he ate a few pellets and he started to swim with his clear fins today... but he doesnt look very far from death!

I"m sorry to hear this.
Do keep in mind that he might just have some swim bladder problems which can make them look really, really dibilitated.

It is very stressful for them to be involved in a fight - so he's probably pretty traumatized - but their tipping over like that can be swim bladder, and that looks much worse than it is...

What are you giving him - like salt, etc?

Bettas can go a long time without food. Best to underfeed at a time like this than overfeed.

Do you have any Melafix? I forgot if you said you used any. That stuff is very good for healing wounds. My guys seem to perk up a bit with that stuff too. It's good for a lot of things actually. It's worth getting and having around.

Maybe a water change will make him feel better too. Not sure when you last did that. It's worth a try.

well i use salt and betta fix and the pellets i give him are the baby ones (figure i would start small) and yesterday he ONLY ate like 4 of those and 3 flakes!

i did a 100% waterchange today and scrubbed the whole tank then added more salt and more bettafix! i put a small DIY filter in there for him (he can get stuck in this one) he ate another pellet a bit ago! i was wondering... do you think that since he is lopsided it may be because of his clear fins! the look like this

they kinda slant and stuff :( they are all mangled and.. kinda retarded looking (scuse the lango)
