I have started to cycle an 8.7gal tank. It is still not ready but I am not sure how to stock it. I know it is not a large tank so not many fish can go in there. Any ideas what to put in it? Until now I have been given this ideas:
1. killinfish with some nano cory.
2. shrimp tank
3.betta tank
4. neon tetras
5. guppies
I know people told me more ideas...but my memory is horrible. Maybe I should just put some Oscar fish and angelfish in there. (Just joking) so what other things you think i should put there?

I would personally go for a betta because they are by far the most interactive and attractive fish out of the ones you mentioned.
Neons are too active in my opinion for that tank.

I'd cross the neons off your list, they need more room.

If it were me I'd do.... < drumroll > ........ Shrimps or betta or both depending on how nice your betta is.

the betta is similar to that one. But well, the tank was suppose to be a gift to someone. And yesterday he offered to buy it off from me cuz he wanted to put guppies in there. I said the tank was not on sale, but I will give it to him later. So I guess I will put two purple guppies, a white one and see  maybe 2 or 3 other guppies.

By Nice I meant in personality. If he's a complete butt to shrimps then you don't want him with shrimps. ;)

lurvee my betta! was looking at giant ones yesterday

shame i can only find them for sale in malaysia

My local pet store has a large variety of bettas. I have an orange half moon betta. I love him <3

I think you should get a betta first and then if he is calm, add some shrimp and see how that goes. :)
Cherry shrimp are best in my opinion.

I would have probably gone with the betta. And i have never had shrimp buy because many have recommended it I could have tried it out. But tabk will be a gift and the guy who is getting tank wants guppies in it.
