75 Gallon Crash

Yay! Glad that there was a decent guy that realized THEIR mistake!
Look forward to seeing the new tank.

Thats why I asked if it happened to their tanks. Because if it didnt, I would hope you'd get some discounts or some money back to help pay for damages.

But this is fantastic news! Looking forward to see the new build.
it happened to two of their tanks and yes he is a hell of a guy he just called me and asked if i wanted a barely used protein skimmer. :hyper: im gonna see if i can post a few pictures in a couple of minutes

i was just looking in the tub that i put all the rocks and stuff from the crash and i found this :hyper:

That's a lot of algae.

I can't believe that that frag survived. Awesome.

What a pretty clownfish, is he yours?

:)

That is quite a bit of algae lol. Glad to see that something survived and you're able to start this tank back up!

I know nothing about the salty side of life but intend to get a SW tank soon.
Anyways, if the shop sold the dodgy water isn't there some sort of come back regardless? If they sell you something which wrecked your tank shouldn't you get everything replaced for free?
Am I being daft in thinking this?

That would be the logical thing for them to do. Most mom and pop type fish stores don't normally make enough to be able to afford a compleete replacement of all missing live stock. But by the sounds of it, a nice discount is being provided. Which, in my book, is almost just as good because marine livestock and equipment can be pricey.

And now that this has happened once, i'm sure they will regularly check water quality daily as to not let this happen again.

yes i agree with gray. most of the chain stores wouldnt have even cared. its a shame really. but the man who owns this store is really nice  . and also i am thinking of restocking the reef in 2 weeks if the water stays right. any ideas for stocking fish and coral wise. i already got a lawnmower blenny and a tomato clown. im gonna get a orange spot goby(which i have a soft spot for) . the only coral is of course the extremely hardy trumpet coral.

yes a wrasse would be nice maybe a sixline? and i like euphyllia
