i havent been on in awhile but my 75usg reef tank crashed. it happened due to contamination of the water that i buy from the lfs near where i work. it also happened to 2 other people that get the water from the same people.

That is my worst nightmare. Are you going to rebuild?

I hope so, it wasn't your fault the crash happened.

:(

im not going to rebuild. it would cost me a lot of money. i lost everything including 115 pounds of live rock. im probably just going to turn it into a planted tank. i might in the future go back to saltwater though.

Oh no... I'm so sorry. :(

Good luck with the planted tank. Don't be a stranger here, though. Your tank was awesome.

thanks but yours is better lol. im probably gonna do a 30 gallon saltwater tank when may rolls around.

No yours is better. lol

When May comes around, I look forward to a new journal. In the meantime, a planted 75g journal is nice too. :)

Yeah, I can't imagine the cost of a 75g. I'm lucky, I can fill up my picos with frags.

lol i love frags i had tons of em. i also look forward to a smaller scale saltwater tank myself. the 75 gallon was pretty big lol

well im rebuilding after all  . the owner of the lfs was horrified at what happened. i guess it took a few days for the employees to tell him. he called me today(i have no idea how he has my number) and told me i could have all the rocks and sand out of an aquarium that he just bought off of craigslist :hyper: . and he also is giving me a huge discount on whatever i need to rebuild  . he also is giving me some frags that came with the tank :hyper: . im gonna wait a few weeks to get them though. i already went and got the rocks and put them in my tank. they have a lot of algae on them. im so happy that i get to rebuild . if everything goes right i might just be able to rebuild it with little or no cost at all. im feelin pretty lucky right now.

Merry Late Christmas to you!! :yahoo:

Look forward to the new build... :D

Yeah, I get lucky. I think Miami has some really beautiful frag selection. I just changed my 8g. That tank makes me smile when I look at it. All the colors!

Yay! Glad that there was a decent guy that realized THEIR mistake!
Look forward to seeing the new tank.

Thats why I asked if it happened to their tanks. Because if it didnt, I would hope you'd get some discounts or some money back to help pay for damages.

But this is fantastic news! Looking forward to see the new build.
