On the very first post you made, you asked about the wood for ID, its Redmoor Root / Vine, I have some as well and I like it, very decorative.

And no, WCMM will do not do that well at Betta tank water temps, basically warm water will shorten WCMM lifespans and their colours and energy are nowhere near as vibrant as should be as in cooler waters.

Hope the sealant repairs do the job, I like these Clearseal tanks in their simplicity of design and you can do so many thing with that little tank.

Looking forward to seeing how this progresses

hi sorry for the late reply. the wood is temporarily in my 170l tank till imove house.
then i can start sorting it all out again. the seals are solid as the tank has sat under leak test since i last updated so i could continue soaking the wood :p
it is a shame about the WCMM but oh well i'll find another shoaler somewhere

Hi all. Tank is up and running now and housing a Betta and 3 endlers. Here is a couple pics one from the front one from the side and gimme your opinions

Looks good, btw that variegated plant is a dracaena, it's a houseplant not an aquatic plant & will rot & die

Yup, in fact i think its a semi aquatic plant tbh, roots in water and leaves out of water, it grows real nice, I know this because i made the exact same mistake when set up my first tank.

Growing pretty well now in plant pot on windowsill and in waterlogged soil and even has a leave or two going red :)

Thought it wasn't aquatic but gf was adamant she wanted it so when it dies it dies I'm afraid. Apart from that. The filter I made is working a treat so all's well atm. Thinking of getting a couple assassin snails as bit of a problem with commons atm

Just be aware that when it dies it will rot into the water column and turn into ammonia etc etc. adding to the waste.
Assassin snails certainly do the trick with common snails! Just don't expect them to work fast - it's a case of slowly, slowly, but they get there in the end.

The second the leaves start going it will be removed. Also for the look I do like their shells

thinking about it i will try and root it into the filter foam and have the leaves out of water see if it survives then
