Boso

I've been feeding Boso meal worms this week. Some of them are a little big and he really has to work to get them stuffed down. But if I dig around in the media I can usually find a nice soft one that has just shed its skin. He likes those better.

Now that spring is here, I have been supplementing Boso the frog's normal store crickets with small earth worms and other mini critters I find in the yard and around the house. Without really thinking it through, I just fed him a half-grown wolf spider I found in the basement. It was probably a terrible idea but, like many terrible ideas, the result was pretty awesome. The ensuing battle was brief but dramatic. Boso won.

Now regretting that I didn't think to video it.

I never did like feeding things, that can bite back... you look at old critters in captivity, and they are road maps of battles they won... but often they don't look pretty any more, and end up grizzled, and old looking

Was probably interesting but I would never use a wolf spider as a food source. When I lived in Texas and Florida a wolf spider taking residence in your home was often considered a blessing as they don't make webs and eat all kinds of bugs you don't want.
