5 Gallon aquarium two fish questions

Hello,

Here is what I have:

5 gallon tank, had fish in it for about a month.

I currently have in this tank:

One (Dwarf?) Gourami about 1.5"
One (Common?) Pleco about 2.5"

The Pleco seems perfectly happy and gobbles up the Algae wafers I leave very quickly. (I hardly ever see it, it hides in its cave nearly all day!)

I just lost two small swordtails about a week ago. Not sure why, they died pretty quickly.

The Gourami seems fine, though his colors faded a little about the same time the swordtails died, he seems more normal now, and is as zippy as ever (very quick, holds still and then zips to the other side of the tank suddenly, fun to watch )

Question:
I would like to have a couple of other small fish in this tank, I really liked the swordtails and was very upset when they died.

Are there any fish that would be good to add to this mix, Or should I just let things be with the two of them?

I plan on getting a larger tank in the future to accomodate the plecostomus (which is going to get really big isn't it...)

you could try guppies, or couple of cories, or both
