But back to the journal and i shall post pictures of my lid and how i built it for people to look at and maybe take ideas
but overall i am very happy with how it has turned out and luckily the paint is water proof
and gave a very nice smooth finish
Picture showing the fininshed lid, i am leaving the outside of the lid for a while still undecided on what colour I love the Mat black so i may go for that again, any opinions?
I then screwed in these blocks i needed these to raise up the reflectors for two reasons, main one was to stop the screw going through the whole wood i ran out of small screws and only had larger ones left, and to prevent the heat from reflector melting or burning the paint/wood as much, wether it will or not i don't know just guessing
also fitted the plastic clips in place to hold the lights
as the Light unit i have is water proof i thought i shall hide it inside the lid and hide the cables i thought i did a good job with this, very pleased with myself
Shows how i pined the cables to the lid simple and cheep way of doing this just makes it a bit neater
for the reflectors they where actually to long in the end so i overlapped them and drilled a hole so screw the middle part down with and attached the lights, then used some aqua sealent to stick the blue Moon lighting to the support beam in the middle trying not to make a mess of that and to put it as central as i can
Picture with the Lid on and Lights on
And with the Room Lights out
Overall i am impressed at how it has turned out and i hope you find this all useful
Any Questions please fell free to ask
Now onto the fish i went out and got some Slate for the fish and my plec is loving it as you can see here
altho i think i may go out at some point and get some more smaller bits to raise it up a tad more give him more room
and a few of my cory's sorry for the cloudy ness of the water this has now gone since the 85-95% water change today
and i hope it stays that way till the weekend when i can get a decent pic of them and maybe a video
But a Run down of my stocking now 19 Cory's, 2 Torpedo barbs, the two that i originally had, the 6 i bought all sufficed to poor water conditions a very good learning cure for me and hopefully someone will read this and won't make the same mistake, all 4 Angels severed and are looking good
, and the plec dose his best to sleep ( the cory's love to play with him especially who can stay under him the longest
its quite funny watching them lol.
thank you all for reading this, any comments are appreciated opinions and criticism also
