I normally dose daily (4ml), but I've been lazy about it so I was dosing 5ml every other day.  When I start with the excel, should I dose both daily and just start the excel  in smaller amounts?
Is it going to kill my vallis?!?!  Carbon scares me lol
Yes dose both daily but you will soon need to replace your florish fert for somethin that has trace N P and K as your plant will absorb these elements fairly quickly when dosed with a carbon.
If you have Vallis only dose 1/3 of what the excel bottle recommends daily for 1 week. Then dose 2/3 of what the bottle recommends daily for 2nd week. Then dose full amount what the bottle suggests from week 3 onwards. This should prevent melting of any sort. If you do get a slight bit of melting, dont worry your vallis will bounce back. Carbon will definitely aid your plants growth and as an addedbonus it also contains an aglicide so it should take care of your algae problem with good time:)

Thanks Slim!!!! I'll do some updates in my journal.  Sorry to crash your thread Zif

Il look forward to it:)

hey dont worry green, you brought me another question the aglicide will that kill ALL algae? of just the known bba?

Well excel contains an algicide that helps kill BBA and hair algae and other sorts im sure. But carbon dosing along with a good trace NP and K means better growth for your plants thus algae becomes outcompeted providing macros dont become exhausted. The better environment for plants, the harder time algae has to thrive. Ok I admit algae will never be 100% gone in a low tech but introducing excel will be a huge improvment in time

yes cool thnx for clearing that up

I'm gonna go for it. If it helps with the gsa then I'll be happy, I have otos and bn's for the other stuff. I would really like humongous plants though

GSA is a result of low phosphates. Replace your florish with a combined micro and macro fert (something with trace nitrate phosphate and potassium in)
Dose this daily alongside excel and your gsa will go and your plants will thrive:)

Thank you sir! This has been a very educational day. So glad I was snooping Zik's thread :)
