Okay since i have 7 cories in a 10 gallon!!!! i kno kno..lol so i plan on buyin a bigger tank fro they when they mature ;) i was thinking aobut a 30 gallon or da most, 40 gallon, what do u guys think? i know the bigger the tank the better their living...well wut about my livin?lol i want to spend as least money as possible and make my fish happy...i was thinking bout these fish...comments/suggestions?

as you can see i am adding all my fish in my old tanks to the new one then i'll make 1 ten gallon tank for 3 dwarf puffers and 1 for frys =)

30 or 40 gallon tank:

7 cories (2 sterbai, 1 julii, 1 pepper, 1 albino, 2 bronze)(may get 1 more for each species which only have one of it's kind.)
4 platties (may add more but if so how many more?)
8 neons
5 ghost shrimps
2 bristlenose plec
3 guppys (should i add them to this tank?)
3 kuhli loach

i would say that this tank is pretty stocked but if u think there is a certain fish i should have, tell me and tell me which fish i should take out ;)

I think you've answered your question... the bigger the better. You won't pay much more for a 40 gal tank and eventually, if you bought the 30 gal, you'll regret not having gone the extra size. This is MY opinion.... 40 gal doesn't take much more room than 30 would either.

I agree. At my lfs the 40 gallon only costs about $20 more than the 30 gallon!

if i buy the 40 gallon, i can get more fish then wut i listed right?

Dont bother adding guppie or plaies they will add them selves :D

But on a more serious note buy the bigger tank and fill the room with pond snails for the dwarf puffers. If you get a big enought tank you could keep a snail culture going and never need to buy frozen food for the dwarf puffers. do your cories school together? If not you need to take them back and get all one kind because they need to be in a school to be happy and If you love them you halfto make them happy. Oh and stop buying junk food and your life will improve drasticly.

No one has yet mentioned what I think is an important point. One good reason for gettting as big a tank as a situation permits is, the larger the volume of water you're dealing with, the easier it will be to keep that water stable.

Yup larger tanks are more stable, always best to go for the biggest you can afford.

See Size does matter!!! :p

although what you do with it is also valid, but thatts a secondary issue. :D

:D heck yea, my cories school together.....btw they are also da same size and they luv each oda like families...

btw thanks for da advivce ppl..

and i found out dat a 40 gallon tank is $60 us with no hood no noting... -_- and 50 for a 30 gallon ..so maybe i'll go for da 40 gallon ...i still have to think aobut it B)

Why not get the 40 and make it a cory only tank? They are very cute and very playful when kept in a tank all allone.
