29g Saltwater Nano Tank

They just dissolve in the tank
Still, I didn’t just want to leave it in there. It’s not that appealing to look at, especially when the actual thing is right there.

——

My future fish/invertebrate plans include:
  • 1x Orchid Dottyback
  • 1x Tailspot or Bi-Color Blenny
  • 1x Fire Shrimp
  • More snails
I have no plans for any future coral, as I want to get the fish first and I want my tank to mature a little more.

I'll look into that. My two shrimp molts are chilling in some very strong-smelling surgical spirit. Good smell, though.
They probably won’t look as good dried as they will preserved in the liquid.

I’m going to attempt to superglue the polyp on the Aussie torch frag. It’s not looking so good... they sold me a cracked polyp that had just been fragged. They shouldn’t have sold it to me like that.

What’s up TFF?

This is going to my official journal for my 29g SW nano tank.

Here is the tank as of right now:

nice man looking forward to it

I might be getting an orchid dottyback on Tuesday! (If PetSmart still has theirs...)

I would normally get fish from my LFS, but they never had orchids.

Feeding mysis to everything - goodnight TFF!

Remove the old shrimp's skeleton and put it on the garden.

Buy a pr of Orchid dottybacks and breed them.

Don't get a fire shrimp, get another red line cleaner so you have 2 of them. They normally live in groups and prefer company.

And do a big water change to try and help the Euphyllia coral.

They need more than mysis, Give them some marine mix or cooked prawn/ shrimp, brineshrimp, and anything else you can get. Make sure you use cooked prawn so it doesn't introduce a disease that kills the cleaner shrimp.

It’s already gone. Turned to brown jelly. :(

They sold it to my WAY to soon, as mentioned above.

I also wanted to get a blenny - would getting 2x dottybacks and 1x blenny not be overstock?

Will consider this. :good:

I also feed pellets, but I do agree I need more.

have a tank full of sexy shrimp :)
Sexy shrimp are kind of cool, but SSS and fire shrimp seem to have more personality.

I'd give him the world if I could! I wonder if having a SW tank just for shrimp would be worth it.
I think it would. A 10g nano should do the trick. :p

However, the bigger the tank the better. It’s easier to manage water parameters, you have more stocking options, and you have more room for coral.
