The mushroom slipped down off the shell.?

It looks happier there, so I will just leave it.

The cinnamon opened up fully!

get the coral off the sand and away from the blue green (red) algae. even if you turn the shell over and put the coral in that it would be better than leaving it on the sand.

The mushroom apparently doesn’t want to be on the shell. I really need to find a frag plug, so it has a flat place to grow.

Get 4 small flat rocks and put them together to form an X. Have a small gap between them and put the coral on that.

You can cut limestone quite easily with an angle grinder and shape it with a wood rasp or metal file. Wear a dust mask if it is dusty.

-----------
The shrimp is cleaning the fish. Make sure the shrimp is fed a couple of times a day so it doesn't starve.

Wish he would do this, but I haven’t noticed it yet. They were just hanging out together.

I assume it’s ok to feed him mysis shrimp? He definitely likes them more than the pellets.

Going to go to my LFS now to get the light!!

Funds provided, so I will also be able to get another $30 frag. :D

Do you guys have any suggestions for $30 frags? I think they had Xenia last time that might still be there.

Or should I just get what appeals to me?

(Budget for today is $140 - should be just enough to get the light and the coral)

Hehe, yes, I got another one: :p

Torch time baby!

Also got the new light! Super impressed so far. I don’t have any brackets to hang it yet, but I will figure something out.

Setup a temporary brace to hold the light:

(It’s just some wood wrapped in duck tape. :p)

It is very sturdy, so I have no concerns.

The light doesn’t get to the corners of the tank yet, because it’s not lifted in the air. Once I get the braces, it will look good. :)

Crap, I think I damaged some of the tentacles. :(

I actually think it was the LFS worker, because she was really struggling to get it off the frag rack.

It just got put in the tank, so I shouldn’t jump to conclusions...

Also found out what brand & model the light is. It’s a Evergrow IT2040.

Pretyy good light from what I’m reading, I just need to buy the brackets.

It retails for $250-$400, so I’m happy with my purchase. It is a complicated system however, so I’m still learning.

Is the torch coral a Euphyllia species?
If yes, keep it well away from other corals because they have long tentacles and fight.

Post #340. The fish don't like the new light. They are on the side of the tank avoiding the light.

The purple light is ultraviolet so don't look at it. The UV light is what makes the corals luminesce.
