2217 Filter Classic Plus (eheim) For 105 Gallon Tank

Would the 2217 Filter Classic Plus (Eheim) model be a good filter to run in conjunction with my aquaclear 110 in my 105 gallon oscar/cichlid tank?

If so, I have a few Questions:

1) Is Eheim the best brand?

2) Can I choose what filter media I want to use?

3) If so, what would you recommend I use and not use? (I already won't be using carbon)

4) Would you recommend a different Eheim model? If so please state.

I really know completely nothing about canister filters so any help is really appreciated!

I use the 2213 Model of the Classic but have used Fluvals too and I reckon

1) Yes, Eheim is the best brand I've used

2) Yes

3) I use filter foam plus Ehfimech and Ehfisubstrate but you don't need to use Eheim brand media

4) Can't advise you on this because have only used the 2213
