2,000 Liter Discus Tank

Absolutely gorgeous..have fun head counting :p

was just wondering as i have seen some lights i like that are supposed to be hardwired but i'd rather put them on a plug if poss.
now i know it can be done with the ones you have i may resort to copy cat :)

Yep. Is pretty simple. I am an engineer by trade so I didn't even think about it. However, to be fare, you don't need to be an electrician. If you can wire a plug then that's all the skill required. The lamps will possibly not have much(or no) wire on them so you will need to connect enough cable and then put a plug on the end.......Simples ;)

that's fantastic, thanks :D
b&q have a click and link range in LED that i fancy trying it out with :)

Great idea. Gives more options than most LFS and saves the pennies!

I am really happy with my lamps. They look good, cost a fraction of aquarium designed units, and are working well, as my stem plants have grown 2 inches in just 4 days!

yeah, the look goes really nice with the set up/positioning you have and they are certainly bright enough too lol :)

Was actually lucky, because I first chose a lamp with a bigger reflector and was going for 3 units, but the store only had 2 in stock. I was a bit disappointed and nearly went elsewhere, but then went with these 4 smaller reflectors, and am so happy I did as it is nice and even and adds the extra bulb. "I believe in fate!"

yeah, i'm a great believer in "things happen for a reason" especially with that kind of thing. the bigger ones might have looked a bit clumsy and tane away from the look of the tank. i think the ones you have just compliment it nicely :)

The Discus must be happy in their new home, as they got jiggy last night!...............

The Tetras look great! Will look even better when they're not feeling as threatened!

Congrats on the spawn! They must really love your tank ^_^
Are you going to try to raise the fry?

Unfortunately the chances of the fry surviving to even the swimming stage in that tank is close to zero, as they will get eaten!

Only read the first and last page, but it looks a good thread!
Will be good when you get back into breeding them again :) Lets hope there are no more deformed spines!
