O yeh, that plastic plant i think might be cabomba or hornwort? I would move the wisteria and cabomba/hornwort to each of the back corners and put the hydrocotyle lococephala as a floating plant then use the a.reinekii where ever you want lol.Maybe some crypts along the sides and some anubias nano on bogwood for a centre peice then some four leaf clover,riccia or glosso for a carpet.Just what i would do anyways.I'm insane...

Also i think the hydrocotyle lococephala could actually be cardamine lyrata

This is awesome. Just goes to show that you can really make a statement with a well designed small tank.

I'm pretty sure the bright green, feathery plant in the corner is hornwort, i have one of these and they grow like weeds. I've had to prune it back twice now, you can use the clippings to propagate more plants. Very pretty in my opinion.

I have my 12 gallon open on each side as well, on my counter with is a divider between living room and kitchen. My fish see me and the dogs moving about all the time and seem to enjoy the action. So i wouldn't worry about them being spooked, even my teeny tiny sparkling gourami seems to like watching the hustle and bustle, as she's always scooting up to the glass when she realizes we're around.

Watch you don't become overstocked or you'll start to have water problems! Sounds like you're at your maximum at this point.

I give this tank 2 thumbs up. I love tiny tanks and this one is really nicely organized.

Stocking wise I'm not going to add any more, at least not for the moment. And if I do it will be just one more small fish, but like I say I have no plans to add anything else.

Water quality wise I'm going to be using RO water and 'Tropic Marin Re-Mineral Tropic', so it will be nice and soft at around 6.5 dH.

Id' take the betta out. Bettas have a tendency to attack cardinal tetras because they look like other bettas, even though it might take days, or even weeks for him to start. And Cardinals can nip bettas fins...

I've kept bettas with cardinals on and off for 20 years. Never had a problem.

The Camera is a Canon EOD350D.

There is no lid and yes there is always a risk of fish jumping. And the water level is about 1mm from the top of the glass, it really is full to the brim! But when it was setup as a marine tank nothing jumped out and in my experience marine fish tend to be more jumpy than tropical (that is a generalisation though). I don't expect to have any jumpers, but it is always possible.

Evaporation is not much of an issue so far. The temp is stable at 28.5'C and it loses about 0.5 litres a day. I top it up with RO water so there will be no slow concentration of gH either. Water changes are RO water and 'Tropic Marin Re-Mineral Tropic', so nice and soft.

that would just be the worst, one would kill the other. i have kept bettas with cardinals before, no problem but the guy i have now doesn't like anything, keep an eye on him and nice plec

Yeah I've got no plans to get a female. I've never had a problem before keeping a betta and cardinals in the same tank.

At the moment about 2 1/2 inches. The Cardinals really do set it off.
