I have a fluval 304 and I'm interested in buying the Turbo-Twist UV Sterilizer (18 watt one). But I don't know if I need to buy any installation hardware or materials? If anyone has used a turbo-twist with a fluval please let me know what i need, so i can purchase all the items together at the same time. :D thanxs

They should work fine together. I have a 9W but I ran it straight off a power head rather than putting it inline with my Fluval 304. The 304 is rated for 260 gallon per hour so you shouldn't have any problem. How large is your tank. My 9w worked perfectly on my 75 gallon.

Edit: Do you have more than one tank? If so, you may want to run it with a power head rather than connecting it directly to the fluval. That way you can run it on a different tank if the need arises. I ran mine on both my 75 gallon and my 29 gallon. Here is a thread I started a couple months ago showing the day by day progress on my 29 gallon.

I have a 55 gallon aquarium but the reason I want to add the uv sterilizer is not just to make it look clean, I actually want all the parasites in my aquarium to burn in uv hell. All my fish are very healthy but I don't want to wait until the catch something until I add the sterilizer. :D That's why I picked the 18 watt one instead of the 9 watt.

I only have one tank, thanks anyway for the suggestion. So I really don't need anything? I just cut the filter tube in half and stick the sterilizer in the middle and everything will be fine and dandy? :p The installation of this thing is what's really confusing me.

UV units have a very limited use in freshwater setups. Good fishkeeping is enough to keep your tanks clear of problems. Relying on gadgets is a dubious policy.

I GOT MY 18WATT STERILZER IN THE MAIL YESTERDAY! :D OMG, it's amazing! When I installed it I couldn't even see the back of my aquarium; not even my fish swimming! Well within 12 hours my tank was at 50% visibility withing 24 hours (right now) it is at 90% visibility! WOW. No more green water during spring and fall; when the sun shifts towards the windows near my aquarium.

Ok well i have one more question, I don't know if it it belongs in this forum or not, but here it goes anyways... Does anyone know if my uv sterilizer will have any affect on medicines i put in my aquarium, would it zap the medicine with radiation and not make it work? :/

Lateral Line I don't understand your philosophical ^ thinking ^ Is there a hidden message somewhere in there, because I don't understand what you're trying to say. :p Are you saying I just waisted $130 on something that's useless?
