Thank you! I currently have 5 flame tetras in there. I wanted tiger barbs but the tank's too small for them. My brother suggested silver balloon mollies because they look like little golf balls  Buuut they need salt plus they're big poopers, so, no can do. I am sticking with flame tetras for now. Might change my mind later on though. One thing's for sure: it's going to be a single species only tank ;)

At least it's not an oscar! probably worse than moles on a normal course.

Go for it with the model golfers (smaller ones obviously). Who says humour shouldn't be a part of aquascaping? Look at Oliver Knott's football scape!
Haha they are excellent FK  Oh the wonder of Ebay
   The guy on the left looks a bit shifty........ keep an eye on ya balls :D
:hyper: I found another one...

It's smaller (4 inches) and is free standing. But I kinda like the trio better, they're comical looking. This one looks serious

This is great stuff, FKNM. I also prefer the trio, but they're too big. Harlequines might be cute for that tank, or better yet, hengel or espei rasboras. They have a marking that looks a bit like a golf tee, or if you're very imaginative, a golf club. They are also small and may do well.

llj

Still looking good so far, like you say its probably going to take a while before its finished but it will be a pretty unique creation and i look forward to future updates.

That is going to take a long, long, long, long, did I say long, time to finish. I looked at the two example photos that you posted, and frankly, I'm not noticing much of a difference. But, I love the layout. It's looking better all the time. I still really like the anacharis, and I think you should mix it with the hornwort, especially if it stays that green. It's going to be super cool when it's done.

llj :)

Oh crap! I know exactly how you feel, the dam CO2 and dam algae!

Sam

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh :shout:

It's official. I've grown EVERY type of algae possible since keeping a proper tank. I thought I'd be able dodge the bullet, but nope. I've got green water. Finally. (Or should I say green water got me?). Got lazy with changing out the CO2 mix. I just started a new job (crazy hours), and I'm busy on the weekends (driving lessons...don't ask), there's just no tiiiime :-(

And oh, my %#)&#)! hornwort still hasn't #%(&$)# arrived. I'll go yell at them people tomorrow some more :sly: :grr:

That just sucks FKNM. If you want you can have some of my pennywort and anacharis to kill the greenwater before your horwort arrives.

I feel your pain.

llj

I just found this thread. What a great idea! I'm a golfer myself (well, I try :/ ). I'll be watching to see how this progresses. Four!

Looks quality FK!! The hornwort will open up given time, when I first got mine it was very tight like yours but it will soon open up. Was thinking of you the other day, as some hornwort has got caught under the wood in my main tank, and is growing upwards, looks exactly like pine trees, so the look you're going for should work well given time :)

The marimo balls certainly seem to be settling in too.

Sam

That is coming along very well, FKNM. The hornwort looks particularly good, provided it doesn't shed much. Never could stand that plant because of the shedding. I find it personally unpleasant, but it does look very good in your tank and gives you precisely the look you're going for. The Marimbo balls look excellent, filling in nicely. Still needs a cheesy figurine, however, to really unify the look.

llj :)

cme on let us have a sneak peak at the cheesy figure :)
u know thts what we wanna see :)
Good Luck mate :)
