looking good lol, you should look for one of those moving statues tha need an air pump, you never know there could be a golfer out there somewhere lol.

I have to say I am very excited to see this. I have seen other websites where people try to get a golf course thing going, and it never goes well. I love the shapes you designed. I can't wait to see this progress.

This is a mad tank FK, its certainly going to look different ;)

This is a really interesting idea FKNM. Good luck, and keep us posted!

I admire your willingness to try out novel aquascaping ideas. Some of the most "successful" compositions are those that tread new ground.

I look forward to seeing this develop, it could be brilliant.

Thats some excellent progress FK!!! Didnt think it would get this far so quickly :) And I love the way it makes the tank look huge! You're right about the hornwort, will def be a better shape for the trees.

That is the strangest layout I've seen in a while, but I can't wait to see it when it fills in a bit. Just have patience with this tank, FKNM, I think it'll work. You just have to give it time. My only concern is the lack of fast-growers to keep away algae, but with the addition of the horwort, you may be alright. I would keep a few floaters and encourage some emergent growth until the tank stabilizes. Might not look the way you want it to at first, but I think you'll have less of a headache.

llj :)

My only concern is the lack of fast-growers to keep away algae.....
Whilst I normally suggest cramming a tank full of weeds at the start, there are a couple of exceptions when you can "get away" with it, namely a mature filter or no bio-load. NH4 is the biggest algae trigger (Tom Barr has suggested over 200x more than NO3) so if this is limited by having a mature filter or no fish then providing there's still a high plant bio-mass and CO2 etc. then slower growers can be planted from the start.

From what I have seen many pro-scapers use this technique.

I will be testing this theory out in my nano soon i.e. planting with HC and hairgrass from the start. No fish, lots of CO2.

Go for it with the model golfers (smaller ones obviously). Who says humour shouldn't be a part of aquascaping? Look at Oliver Knott's football scape!

Like the theme, very interesting!

What fish you planning on keeping, nothing too disruptive I hope!
