12g Nano Cube Dx Journal + I Have Questions!

Alright, just went5 to the store and picked up 6 more lbs LR, 4 turbo grazing snails, and 1 cherry banded shrimp. How long do I acclimate the snails, if I even need to?

I've spent about $500 so far, and I haven't even bought fish or corals yet. The tank, 7 lbs LR, 12 lbs LS, and a thingy of biospira cost about $400 at a small LFS. Todat I spent just under $100 on 6 lbs LR, a shrimpy thing and a few snails. Its not cheap - to me at least, since I don't have a real job and I've been saving for months.

Yes, you deffinately want to acclimitise everything. Especially inverts! :good: Use the drip line method, and allow them to acclimatise until the shop bags volume doubles. Empty half this out, and double that volume again. Then they should be ready to go in.

You could compare a few values like pH before your release them though.

And Edit: What is "Biospira"? Is that the tank?

Hi,

I'm pretty new to the saltwater world myself, but I would like to advice you take take it slowly. It took my 24G Nano 6 weeks to get ready for the cleanup crew regarding water parameters. You may want to wait a little and take some measurements.

I bought my crew at Aquacon.com. They didn't listen to the delivery time request, but the price is right and the inverts are all alive.

One item I noticed is that even with 10% water changes, my calcium needed to be boosted which will be necessary for you inverts to thrive.

Good luck.

No, its a chemical to jump start marine tanks.

I just added all the little critters to the tank(The shrimp anyway; I added the snails a few hours earlier because I started aclimizing them earlier). Everything, especially the shrimp has moved around since I added them.

Its not a good idea to add any chemicals to your tank that you cant test for

& your Liverock 'jump starts' your tank

What is yor overall flowrate ?

Am I right in thinking you have 13 lbs of Live rock?
