When I started out this wasn't a puffer tank. It had snails and buenos aires and algae eaters, all of which ravaged the live plants I put in there. The grass is my first attempt to get back to a "live environment." That's the direction I'm moving now, but it takes time I must say my kuhlis love digging around the live plants. They'll probably end up digging the plants up... anyone know how to prevent this?
As for flash vs. no flash... it's a bone of contention. Both have their own advantages and disadvantages. That's why I provide both I hope you like!
That's the coolest thing EVER!!! I have a 29 and a 55. You just opened up new horizons for me and my fish!!! Where did you get that tubing, what's the name of it, and what sizes does it come in? I'm thinking...archway over the living room.... Thanks!
Edited to say...sorry. I didn't realize you had a ream of pages and so didn't read where you had already posted the info on what it is, etc. I didn't know there WAS CLEAR pvc. Too cool!!!!!!
Yeah, I think for an operation of that size clear pvc would be the way to go. It's a little expensive, about $10/ft in the US. You also have to worry about sealing things, but if you can pull it off that would be awesome! Make sure you have some sort of overflow as well. You wouldn't want to come home and find your fish tank in your living room Best of luck to you, glad you like what I've done with the place
looks really cool man. i like the red to dont change the red. anyone know where that other "fishy highway" thing is on the forum i did a search but i cant find it at all. imma try to do somthing like this for my mbuna aquarium. =) like some 4 or 5 inch tubing.
What kind of puffers are those? also maybe the puffer stops because the tube is an arc and if it went past the water level it would either have to flip over or go upside down and i have to say that i have never seen a fish flip over.
Thanks for the interest guys. I actually think the puffers were the only ones smart enough to realize that they were going above the water line. Sadly they've all passed on (this thread is wicked old) to that big aquarium in the sky. Thanks again!
