I was at my dad's this weekend and when I came back my frog was dead. My mom was taking care of it while I was gone, I showed her exactly what to do, I know she did everything right, she's done it before. She said when she turned the lights on this morning the frog was dead. Just tested everything, the stats are all perfect. I don't think I'll be getting any more frogs. I'm not sure what I'll get now.

Okay, finally got my camera cord and I have TONS of photos. 48, I think. Some of them aren't very good, but I still liked them for whatever reason so I put them here.

Guys... I posted 48 photos... SOMEONE please reply?

I think people are still making their way through the photos. It`s a nice looking tank.

Have you thought about getting rid of the CO2 ladder for something better looking and more efficient?

Thanks for the reply.

The CO2 is stable at 30, I'm afraid to mess with it, lol. What would I replace it with, though?

Did a water change today and rearranged the tank again. I'm going to keep it how it is now, or at least v v similar. Took a few more close ups as well (not as many as before though, don't worry!)

The pics don't do the full tank shots justice. They make the background look blue, and the glass look way worse than it is. But... I tried.

^^ cories from my 29g ^^

Alright, I'm getting some fish. I bought 6 Hatchetfish and one Dwarf Gourami, and a few more shrimp from liveaquaria. They'll probably get here Friday. I'm debating whether or not to remove the hairgrass, now. The LC has grown so much, it could easily cover the whole tank bottom, then I'll just make a hill and wait for them to grow out more. I dunno. I think it would look good with the fish.

Do you know if Hatchet Fsh are jumpers? I was thinking of getting some for an open top tank.

Dave.

Yes hatchet fish are jumpers and delicate fish so you want to make sure your pH is stable, they also are top dwellers and like as much space as possible to roam.

neonetra watch the gourami and the hatchet fish, they might fight since they will inhabit the same surface but probably not, might I sugest adding some floating growth for them, hornwort?

Finally got through the pics and the tank is nice, but open. It will look much better once some plants reach the surface. A glass diffuser are sometimes nice.

Thanks for the replies, and yes, hatchetfish are definately jumpers. After some research, I've learned that they'd much rather go up and out than down. I've got my tank completely covered.

For floating plants, I want something with semi-long (1-3"), but thin roots that will come down from the surface. I'm thinking maybe frogbit. I think that's what it's called...

The shrimp, hatchetfish, and dwarf gourami all arrived today in great condition. I'll post a few pics once they're settled in some more. Also, one of my ghost shrimp has eggs. Do you think there's a chance of any offspring surviving with the hatchetfish and gourami?

Ghost shrimp really need brackish water for the babies to survive. I did manage to raise two in FW but that was pure luck and I didn't really do anything, just provide caves and hiding places.

Okay, I won't expect anything to survive then. Thanks!

What are the small larger leaved plants? I'm looking for something like that myself :)

Those are lobelia cardnalis. :good:

For plants, I'm debating whether or not to take out the hairgrass... I think I will, because it looks too out of place to me. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

For fish, they're all doing awesome, eating Freeze Dried bloodworms, flake, and freeze dried brine shrimp. The hatchetfish are sooo cool! :hyper: Tough to get pictures of, though, because I have to get down lower than them and angle the camera towards the light, and then they just come out white or with a huge glare in them that I can't crop out. I found the best way to do it is to stand back a little and use some optical zoom and flash. You can see how they reflect off the surface of the water, it makes pretty cool photos! The gourami is also healthy, but he's still a little skittish. One of his feelers is a little shorter than the other, too. But he's okay, he eats, too.
