im sorry, not to be rude because i want a huge tank like this my self one day, but why on earth put it in a shed? i would want it in my house to enjoy 24/7 please help me understand.
well its a fish house, maybye its a way to escape ? also a tank that big would take up alot of room...

if i didnt have fish in it then it would just be a wooden house

base finished today until the tank goes in then i have something fancy for the front face but cant do that until the tanks in place

just a few coats of vanish tomorrow then tank build on wens

it shouldnt cost that much more to run than my tank now its only 2 UVs and 2 heaters more than im running on my tank now

i still have the doors to insulate but that can be done later as i will have 20 days to wait for the silacon to cure after the tank is made

the only maintenance T1 will have is cleaning glass as he won't have to do water changes, maybe a quick gravel vac now and again, he is going to constantly run a hma filter into the sump so there is a constant water change going on and it only has the same equipment as your normal tank really, plus being a bigger volume will be more stable.
its just the room and cash that is stopping me at the moment! one day soon i hope.
looking good T1, lots of plug sockets! thought i had a lot with my 9 plugs! haha will be 10 once i get your filter!
thinking about putting moon lighting on my tank, you going with anything like this on this big one or just normal lighting?

what have you insulated it with? solid foam like kingspan or like the fibre glass stuff?

i can get kingspan very cheap, so im sure im not the only one! ha

i didn't meen kingspan exactly thats just the most well known of the solid foam insulation boards, but you can get cheaper stuff thats just as good, just used that as an example of the type.
i would imagine it would be difficult to insulate a shed with anything else really.

i put 2 inch stro foam then the tinfoil looking stuff on top of that

i still don't have the skirting boards on yet so a small draft down low and the doors are not insulated yet but i have a greenhouse heater in their now and its running at half power on a thermostat and it very very warm
