right i went to collect the lince cat and the fly river turtle today but when i got home i had a call from the hospital telling me i need to go to A&E asap as i have very high levels of potassium in my blood which is not good its all sorted now and have to go back to see if they have gone high again

anyway back to the fish i don't think i have ever seen a fish swim like a lince cat no way could you have a fish like that in a room were you could see it all day it would make your eyes sore

i will get a video up at some point over the weekend

arn't you moving the fish too ? busy weekend :D

i have some freinds coming around on sunday to help move all the fish

im having problems getting the ph down from 8 to 7 but will sort that out today

i put 4 x bottles of black water extract in yesterday to sofen the water a bit

can you not get hold of a load of ro water? that would knock it down, i was going to mention the hma filter but that doesn't affect the ph does it! i always used peat to get my ph down but that was in a small tank and it did colour it a bit, it didn't bother me but obviously you need a more practical solution and keep clear water. what about the constant water change thing, the waters ph coming out of the hma will be the 8.0 like it comes out of your tap won't it so no matter how much you drop it the hma will keep topping it back up to 8.0 won't it? i suppose im quite lucky in that the ph of my tap water is always near spot on 7.0, the lowest its ever been was 6.8. so will do perfect for my fish. hope you come up with a solution soon!
you expecting the box from lee any time soon??

I'm hoping when all the fish and media are in the HMA will buff the PH

on my old tank between water changes the PH would drop from 7.2 down to 6.5

if i don't do 2 water changes per week on my old tank the ph will drop as low as 6

if i still have problems with high ph via the HMA i will get some kind of water softener but the cost of that is £200-400

i like to keep my tank at 7 - 7.2 then everything is happy

big move in the morning
