    Constipation and Epsom Salt

just wondering if anyone remember how to use the epsom salt bath for constipated bettas! i know it worked before for one of my bettas but that was more than a year ago. my little is bloated, hasn't pooped nor eaten. i've tried frozen blood worms, pellets, peas... nothing. so i was thinking...

I just got my first pair of purebred cts. I want to breed them over the summer, however, I can't seem to find that article on breeding betta that I read like 3 days ago. It was pinned. Does anyone know what happened to it? Also, does anyone know where I can get a microworm culture...

What's wrong with my female betta?

my female was sick for a while after i did a water change. she had clamped fins and would stay on the top or bottom. as far as i could tell, it wasn't fungal or anything like that. but someone suggested that it might be bacterial infection and should use methylene blue to treat her. after...

    Split Tail

most of the splits on my bettas are spontaneous.. and they spontaneously heal by themselves too! so i wouldn't worry. if you really really want to, you can always add bettafix to enhance the healing process. :) post some pics of your new betta!!! i'm sure he's gorgeous!!!

    I bought a sick Betta

hi ral, i currently have a betta that has clamped fins. she eats normally but not as active as before. i was advised by the wonderful people on this forum to do water changes, aquarium salt, water conditioner and methylene blue. i believe that meth blue combats gm + and gm - bacteria. if...

    Is it normal?

you guys are so great!! i really appreciate all your comments and helpful tips. boo (my betta) had pin holes when i first go him a little over a year ago. just that seems like they have gotten bigger. f250fisherman, i do 100% wc once a week for his 1.17g. sometimes i do...

    Is it normal?

unfortunately i don't have any of those tests. i know i should. all i can say is that i change his 1.17g with 100% wc each week. i also just scrub and rinse his tank and plants with hot water. he is my first betta, so i really have no clue as to how bettas age. i've heard that they do get...

    clamped fins

she's still eating ferociously like there is no tomorrow. her tank is littered light with poop (usual amount as compared to last week's amoutn before water change). i've noticed that she's less active.. always at the bottom or the top. however, when i come around, she perks up and start...

seems like i'm having a lot of questions.. sorry guys... my oldest boy has clamped dorsal fins and have holes in his fins. i got him for more than a year. when i got him he was a really big boy already. so i'm guessing that he's a geriatric boy.... i always do 100% wc for him just because...

    clamped fins

i changed the water last friday and today... so between then and now, it has been four days. i just thought that it might be the water and that's why i changed it today. she was never like this before. this is the first time that i've seen her clamp her fins after a wc. she's still pretty...

    clamped fins

after my last water change (100% for 1g), my female betta has been clamping her fins. i really don't know whether it is the water change or that i switched up the bettas location. she was right beside my oldest boy and youngest girl. now she is beside my youngest boy only. she's still very...

I want to give a Betta to my fiancee

i'll definitely get a heater unless you can somehow keep a contant temperature. i think most people here would agree to keep the water around 68-74 degrees. as for the tank, you want one that can provide a fair amount of surface area since bettas are air-breathers. right now, i've got a 5.5g...

    cloudy water

so.... here's what i figured out why my water was cloudy. it wasn't the filter. there is this calcification on the glass and when i do siphone and kind of scraped it, it created the cloudy water. so my question now is, how do you get the calcification out? could you add some kind of...
