just wondering if anyone remember how to use the epsom salt bath for constipated bettas! i know it worked before for one of my bettas but that was more than a year ago. my little is bloated, hasn't pooped nor eaten. i've tried frozen blood worms, pellets, peas... nothing. so i was thinking...

I just got my first pair of purebred cts. I want to breed them over the summer, however, I can't seem to find that article on breeding betta that I read like 3 days ago. It was pinned. Does anyone know what happened to it? Also, does anyone know where I can get a microworm culture...

poor baby! i always used bettafix and it works great. some fish heal faster than others, but they all do heal! good luck!! ;)

my female was sick for a while after i did a water change. she had clamped fins and would stay on the top or bottom. as far as i could tell, it wasn't fungal or anything like that. but someone suggested that it might be bacterial infection and should use methylene blue to treat her. after...

YAY... it finally came yesterday after waiting for almost a month! it was such an exciting moment to open the IBC package. however, i found out that the betta pal program only ships to the US. :( i know there is a chapter in canada. i've just e-mailed the chairman of the program to ask...

most of the splits on my bettas are spontaneous.. and they spontaneously heal by themselves too! so i wouldn't worry. if you really really want to, you can always add bettafix to enhance the healing process. :) post some pics of your new betta!!! i'm sure he's gorgeous!!! :wub:

hey everyone, thanks to all your advice, molly is starting to unclamp and become more active again. i'm so happy!!! :) i used furan-2 which contains methylene blue and it worked! (my local pet supply stores doesn't sell methylene blue by itself!) thanks so much again!!!!! :) :) :) :)

i generally use bettafix. i know that some members use melafix (the concentrated version of bettafix). maybe give those a try? they work pretty well for my bettas!! hope your bettas return to their full glory soon!! ;)

hi ral, i currently have a betta that has clamped fins. she eats normally but not as active as before. i was advised by the wonderful people on this forum to do water changes, aquarium salt, water conditioner and methylene blue. i believe that meth blue combats gm + and gm - bacteria. if...

i've added the medicinal dose of aquarium salt to her bowl already. her activity level still seems to be lower than when she was normally. i just hope that nothing serious is going on.... she is my first girl betta!!! :-( i would hate losing her!!!!!

i'll definitely get a heater unless you can somehow keep a contant temperature. i think most people here would agree to keep the water around 68-74 degrees. as for the tank, you want one that can provide a fair amount of surface area since bettas are air-breathers. right now, i've got a 5.5g...
