I'm quite the newbie myself...i know my tank is a bit overstocked, but dude thats just overkill! Like someone else said...those fish will probably be lucky if they even live past a year in that tank...they's probably be better off at your LFS. :crazy:

I used to have a RTBS with danios, guppies and cories and the little bugger wouldn't leave my guppies alone. He was nipping at their fins real bad so i finally had to move them into a 5 gallon on their own (which made them much happier). So i'm assuming that the same would go for a betta and...

Well i read somewhere on the forum that you can also feed them either the yolk or the white of an egg. Not totally sure which one...whichever one has protein lol not to sure. Can someone else clarify?

I sure do, the fish circled in red are my babies. The second picture shows a better size approzimation since theres a full grown leopard danio in the middle of the pic.

Not too sure. I have some zebra and some cross between zebra and leopard. After a couple weeks you might be able to tell. They got their first stripe around the second or third week.

The strangest thing has happened, my guppy no longer has pine coned scales and he isn't as fat as he was before. Is he recovering from dropsy? or am i imagining things? Since my last post, i have moved him and my other 3 guppies into the 5 gallon tank as my redtailed shark was picking on them...

My fry had green eyes too. They were so cute :) Now their about 4 months old.

Alright, so it could be like 2 days or 2 weeks?

He's still swimming and eating normally. So he swims at the top/middle/bottom, and kinda swims with the other guppies a bit, but he has become kind of a loner since getting the dropsy.

How long til my guppy passes on? Will it be once he eats so much he explodes? Just curious...since i have no place to isolate him, it would be nice to know how long roughly he has to live.

How long do you think he'll last? He's still eating normal and chasing the other guppies. I don't have anywhere to isolate the poor guy but my danios arn't bothering him so sad to say hopefully he'll just pass on soon. :sad: EDIT: He's been at this stage for about 3-4 days now.

One of my mail guppies has dropsy (i'm pretty sure), is there anything i can do for him? and any possible diagnoses as to how he got it? Water parameters are normal (amm 0, ite 0, 20 ate, 7.2 pH). I;ve had the guppy for about 6 months now so i'm quite suprised as to how long he has survived...

I have guppies, danios, cories and a red tailed shark in my 20 gallon...they all get along great...hopefully i can talk my parents into a bigger tank so my sharky has more room :)

Awww i came home from school today and one of my albino cories was dad :( I'm assuming it must have been old age since he/she was about 2 inches long. Anyways just thought i'd share my story...thats all. :-(

I was just puttin one of my plastic plants back in my 5 gallon tank, after cleaning off a bunch of snail eggs and i noticed on some of the gravel and on the glass that theres some kind of spore like things. Theres a thin steam attached to the glass and on the other end are a bunch of tneticle...

Well this is what happened...my boyfriend was looking at the tank the other day and what i thought to be 2 females was actually a male and female (having sex of course). Without thinking he scooped them out and dumped them down the sink...i come home and i have no snails. lol. Ah well i still...

It just keeps laying eggs! Everyday i'm cuttin off leaves and throwing out eggs! By the time this months over i'll have leaf-less plants! After i caught the guy and girl goin at it, i moved the girl into a diff tank...is there any stopping this overflow of eggs? Anyway to tell which ones arn't...

i was also thinking about changing to sand...does your tank need to recycle? i'm assuming the bacteria all comes out when you take out the gravel...

I have danios and guppies together...they seem to get along just fine, but make sure you have a bunch of plants so the other fish can kind of hide from the danios...but i also have 6 danios and 5 guppies...they seem to stay in their own groups and for some reason it seems during the day my...

haha yeah sorry i had a blonde moment...it was hooked up properly but since i also had my clam hooked up to it the motor wasn't strong enough so only one or the other would work....darn time to buy a bigger one :P

How long should it take before i start to see air bubbles coming out of my 2 inch long airstone? I'm guessing that it has to absorb water but how long until we see bubbles?

well when he moult-ed it was usually yellowish/clear...and usually hollow...from the looks of it this was definently not hollow! I'm still crossing my fingers hoping it was a moult but i didn;t see him in the cave or under the clam when i came home 3 hours later after i turfed him :(

My shrimp passed away this morning :( He was about an inch long and this morning i found him on his side...but instead of being a yellowy brownish color he was white and red and didn't even look like himself :( I was so sad so i pulled him out right away and dumped him in the garbage bag:(

Well i just moved my 3 week old danio fry to a 5 gallon tank. There are a bunch of real and fake plants in the aquarium, i'm feeding them a mix of liquid fry food and crushed up flakes. Anyways, i have an elite stingray 5 in the aquarium, but i'm afraid to turn it on as i don't want the babies...

Thats what mine looked like too! Now their 2 weeks old and about .25 cm long...they are soooo cute! I only thought there were 2...now there's 14! :) Have fun with them.

Thanks for your replies :) I"ve been keeping an eye on my tank and it seems like there is only one snail! So as for the reproducing part i should be alright :)

So what i'm thinking is that snails aren't a bad thing? Their basically a clean up crew right?

oooh alright. Well maybe the darn thing came in one of my plants from 2 weeks ago and i never noticed him...hmmmm... but yeah my shrimp man has moulted twice in the month that i've had him. He usually eats falke foods and he absolutely loves the peas i put in everyday.

I was looking at my tank last night and there crawling on the rocks was a snail! So my question is haha do they just appear? I haven't added anything to the tank, so yeah where did the little guy come from? EDIT: and one more thing! How often to shrimp moult?

Well my mom wants to put my old 5 gallon aquarium in her office at work, so that she can watch the fish and have some stress relief, lol i dunno. Anyways she wants to have a blue/red betta in it. Anyways i have about 12-14 danio fry (i'm assuming their zebra's but a few may be leopards), anyway...
