Grrrrrrrrrrrr stupid snail!!!!!!!

It just keeps laying eggs! Everyday i'm cuttin off leaves and throwing out eggs! By the time this months over i'll have leaf-less plants! After i caught the guy and girl goin at it, i moved the girl into a diff tank...is there any stopping this overflow of eggs? Anyway to tell which ones arn't fertilized? I have no idea what kind of snail it is, the eggs are tiny white dots in the mucus coating...is it ever going to stop!!!!!

This was about a week ago that i saw them doing this.

Lower the amount of food and algae. No food and they will stop. Snails only produce offspring if the tank (food and room) can suport them.

How do you use lettuce to get rid of snails?
Smash them with it? Feed it to them?
I would think they'd like it and have even bigger parties.

I doubt separating them will be very effective either. Most ( or at least some)snails are heraphrodites (both sexes in 1 body) , and I was told that mystery snails are not able to reproduce on their own, but mine just laid her 5th clutch of eggs and 2 huge bunches have already hatched out plenty of live snails.
Maybe they store sperm or embryos or something and release them months later kind of like Guppies.

tyou use lettuce or any type of veg by placing it in the tank at night then in the morning alot fo them should be gathered on it, then you can just remove the leaf.

Try a couple slices of cucumber! You will have every snail in the tank on it within a day or so!

Well this is what happened...my boyfriend was looking at the tank the other day and what i thought to be 2 females was actually a male and female (having sex of course). Without thinking he scooped them out and dumped them down the sink...i come home and i have no snails. lol. Ah well i still have my big boy in the 20 gallon...

whenever i have a snail outbreak in my tanks i just scoop out as many as i can and drop them in the tank with the clown loaches. they love me for that!
