I rescued some Danio eggs (really hard to do one in particular kept sniffing around) but I don't know if I have harmed them or not. One actually hatched during the process. It's alive but for how long. :/ So some eggs and this fry are sitting in a fine net at the top of the tank. What can i feed them? They are tiny. Maybe they might like to chew on a finely crushed flake?

they will live on the protins gained from the egg sac for the first two days
after that you need to feed them infusoria (liqued fry no2) for around a week then you can move onto crushed flakes and live baby brine shrimp (sea monkeys)

Thanks. DO you think they will be ok in a suspended net? The one that has hatched doesnt do much but does move. I realise its not good to keep them in a net but out in the tank they will have noooo chance, not with ten hungry Danios! I really hope they make it I can't wait to see which ones they will turn out to be! ^_^

for the first month i had my danio fry in a net at the top of my tank...i fianlly talked my mom into letting me start up my 5 gallon and put them in there. By this time they were free swimming and i could actually see them :) Your fry should be fine in there for now. After about a week they should be free swimming. Mine are now 2 1/2 months old and some of them are almost an inch long :) They're so cute and they swim around with the big danios. It's the coolest thing to watch :) Good luck with your fry.

Aww thanks. What do your fry look like? What do you reckon I'll have LF Zebra or pearl? Won't be the golden they arrived few days ago. I have a feeling its going to be LF Zebra.

Not too sure. I have some zebra and some cross between zebra and leopard. After a couple weeks you might be able to tell. They got their first stripe around the second or third week.

I sure do, the fish circled in red are my babies. The second picture shows a better size approzimation since theres a full grown leopard danio in the middle of the pic.

Aww so cute. I've got three fry and one egg that is still early on in development. I couldn't find fry food in one petshop i went to.

Well i read somewhere on the forum that you can also feed them either the yolk or the white of an egg. Not totally sure which one...whichever one has protein lol not to sure. Can someone else clarify?

Its the white part that has protein. The only reason I know that is because I've done numerous experiments on purificating protein from hens eggs at uni.
Noticed tonight a few fry swimming around the bottom. I saw one get eaten :( its only natural I guess. So i guess what I'll find out is whether the ones in net will have a good chance or the ones free in the tank.

Wow just watching danios spawn right now! Then someone goes and eats them. Its my zebras.
