5? no way.... 6.5 - 6.9 is ideal for breading, mine were added when only a couple of weeks old, 9months on and they are loving it!! As long as temp is round 28c and sandy bottom clean water should be ok!

True, but when you unsettle it when doing a water change it could bring up dust particals from under the top surface. Or you may have a bacteria bloom!?

Mine are in PH 7.6 and have been fine, they look like breeding very soon too!

I Also got mine from a pet shop but it needed a very good rinse!! could be dust kicked up from the sand when cleaning!

right, after checking my fish tonight one of my cardinal tetra's has a white dot at the end of its body near its tail fin. its just one not raised though. could this be related? any ideas what it could be? Cheers,

Sorry what snails? i only have one asasin snail. Even if there was an ammonia boom surely this would have affected all of the fish and just not the rummy nose? However ammonia has been showing 0 for some time!

unfortunately i dont have the luxury of a seperate tank :( i did one on sunday and change around 40% which is normal for me when i do one....Tap water shows 0ppm nitrate

i didnt put him straight in i did the drip water technique?! Plus all the other fish are fine?! its really odd i did one on sunday, and straught after i found the fish, i have quite alot of plants to soak up most of the nitrate, the highest iv tested is about 20ppm but that was a long while ago

Sorry, 125ltr fully cycled. Had them for around 4months with no issues, I have 6cardinal tetras 2gbr's and a male betta... A few plants and slate caves. Water quality is always as above, temp at 27.5-28 degrees
