Would these fish work in a 75 Gallon Saltwater?

Don't add the porcupine puffer. You don't have enough room for one. First of all they need a tank of at least 125 gallons and secondly your tank is full. I know know you feel, I wanted one to, they're so cute!

Did you do any tests yourself? For amonia, nitrite, nitrate etc. If you don't have any test kits consider purchaing some, they're useful :D

    Compatability

I was just looking at your filtration, are you going to use anything besides a bio-wheel? If you're going to keep corals you might want to consider getting a protein skimmer and powerheads. They will make it much easier to have really good water quality. Also, I think when it comes to clowns...

    Need Help!!!

I'm planning on setting up a 55 or 75 gallon reef to! The filtration I'm planning to use is a protein skimmer, HOB filter and live rock (the HOB filter is just for big bits of stuff in the water. Besides that, how are you planning to stock your tank? Might as well share info since we're on the...

    Seahorses can i keep them?

I think you would be much better off choosing to keep either seahorses or pipe fish. If you really want to keep them together I would reccomend a tank over 100 gallons, you could keep alot but they would need that much space. What size were you thinking of getting? The other thing about...

New Tank, newbie to FOWLR, many questions

This is an old post, but another good thing to cycle with is a raw prawn, like the kind you buy at the grocery store, it smells but it works really well and besides, cycling with fish is cruel in my opinion :-(

    racoon butterfly

Those cuts are not normal! You need to watch your racoon for any signs of agression towards the starfish and if you notice any remove the starfish or the racoon, your choice, because if you don't your starfish might die! :-(

What To Feed My Racoon Butterfly

:D Just wondering, how big is your tank and what else is in there?

    porcupine puffer

You need at least a 125 gallon tank and even that is a little small. Although they don't usually reach full size in captivity, they do usually exceed 16 inches and aren't good in reefs.

    saltwater tank

Hazmat, It looks like you've got a lot of tangs. I heard that they can be agressive towards each other and that they need alot of space. I didn't think you could keep so many together, but you look like you know what your doing :D How are they?

Can I mix 2 false perc clowns with a tomato clown?

That's so cool that you have a 240! I've always wanted a tank that big, I'm sure it's beautiful. Moorish idols and regal tangs are two of my favorite fish, I just don't have space to keep them. :-( Aslo waht kind of starfish? do you have any pictures? I'd love to see them

    Tangs, a warning

Of course you can always keep them in a smaller tank, but they will die much easier and be unhappy! :(

I know its going to be hard work...

But the fish will grow and you have to be prepared if you want to keep it, and with a fish as cool as a boxfish you'd definitely want to keep it! :D

I know its going to be hard work...

A boxfish needs at least a 50 gallon tank os that's out, but I think the clowns are a great idea! If you upgraded your lighting you could get an anemone and see if it would host them but they'll be fine without one. You could also add 3 or so shrimp, peppermint is a good choice. You can have...

Can I mix 2 false perc clowns with a tomato clown?

I wouldn't keep a tang in anything under 75 gallons. I'm not exactly sure what you can keep with a pair of tomatoes but I'm setting up a 55 or 75 gallon tank and the fish I'm planning to get are: 2 common clowns 1 neon goby 1 purple firefish 1 royal gramma (might be the yellow and purple one...

    Tangs, a warning

I love tangs! But one thing that I just thought I'd tell people is that most tangs will eventually require a tank of 100 or 125 gallons plus! (yellow and kole tangs can be kept in 75). That might seem a little extreme but it's true, I've read it in at least 10 or 20 places. Just thought I'd...

    Protein Skimmer

The ASM skimmers are good. They're almost the same as the euroreef except half the price :D . I've had lots of people tell me that they work really well. I think there's a 19.5 inch model, G-1 I think. I think I'm getting the G-1x for my soon to be 75 gallon.

    how to dissolve salt

One more thing, you might want to start with a bigger tank like a 55 or 75 gallon. It will be more expensive and larger but it will be much easier to handle, not to deep for lighting troubles and enough serface area for a good gas exchange. Just to help you a little I'm starting a slatwater...

    protien skimmer

A protein skimmer is a machine that removes organic matter from the water before it has a chance to break down in your aquarium and create toxins like amonia. It is very useful in a reef or FOWLR tank because the reefs that they come from are almost completely devoid of organic matter. You may...

    Gourami compatability

    safety concerns?

Sorry one more question :*) Are there are safety concerns with keeping puffers? I know that they all produce a very dangerous poision and I was wondering if they were really safe to keep and if so, any there any precautions to take when around them? Thanks much! ;)

    Seahorses

seahorses are a real pain to keep and die easily.I think it's a shame people are selling them in pet stores because without the proper knowledge they'll surely die within the first couple of days  . Many people think seahorse would make a cool pet but their endangered and selling them in...
