Glo fish are gmo (genetically modified organism) they use a jelly fish plasmid to cause them to produce fluorescent proteins, (they start with a danio) They used to use them at the genetics lab i work at :/

oh well. i'll just put the anubias that i had in there back, i guess the fern will look nice with my tarantula :rolleyes: on second thought... think my java fern that's attached to a rock would work well, and it has more leaves for the shrimp to explore :D

Im not ignorant about water quality, I do water tests, and use water from an established filtered tank, i just do not want to stress my betta out by creating a current in his tiny little tank :) i have no ammonia or nitrites as stated before, i see no other reason for a filter than to grow...

I keep my betta with shrimp, and my friend keeps hers with a frog, she says that the frog ignores the betta and vice versa, i would only warn you that you need to get the dwarf variety, dont get anything that says clawed frog, they get giant and eat your fish, but look the same as the dwarf...

I agree with everyone above, weekly tests on an established tank are excessive and unnecessary after you have a good feel for keeping fish tanks, unless of course something is iffy
