    That is a part of the ritual from what I have read or can tell. I have two blue, and they are or have done what you are seeing. Has the male tried to create a bubble nest? I do not have a structure set up for their bubble nest to work.

    I have had a few of my fish do that. One would seem to go scouting while the rest school somewhere. At first I thought they were over stressed, which I know they are somewhat but disproved that with everything I can control was OK.
