My computer FINALLY let me upload pics! Sorry for the dark quality. I cant use flash when I take his pic because it turns his body a greenish/blue color. These are the best I could get of his colors. His name is Pennywise. He's named after the clown from the movie IT I love this one of his tail

As long as the BiOrb is heated and he can get fresh oxygen I dont see why it wouldnt work

I guess I havent been here long enough to compare. Or maybe I've just noticed more British members lol *shrugs* The majority of tail types Ive seen in shops near me (chain stores and privately owned fish shops) are CT's and VT's I also looked up betta breeders and the closest one to me is...

I've noticed that a lot (if not the majority), of the betta folks here are from the UK. Are bettas really popular over there in general? And if so, why? Just being a curious American :)

You take a pair of panty hose and rub them over every surface of the plant. If they dont fray or tear (in the least) then the plants are ok. They wont harm the bettas delicate fins Haha, Bronze beat me to it ;)

I dont use silk plants just for that reason. I use plastic plants that have passed the nylon test

Id also like to say that there are no betta breeders around me. I would have bought from a breeder...but no one really breeds VT's and those are the only tail types I like. Plus, the LFS near me never has more than 6 bettas and they are all usually CT's. If they do have a VT they are the plain...

They are in cups to save money. There is a strictly fish shop near me that sells bettas. They are kept in these little bubble things that are smaller then the cups you see at petco. Sheesh, come on! The most I have seen them have at one time is like 6.

I live in California...its warm here too. Yet I still need a heater to keep my sweet boys at a constant 78 degrees Oscars and snakes arent bettas. My Thamnophis Sirtalis Sirtalis is properly housed and heated...and so are my bettas

Nice thought...but would never happen. Every single store has "guidelines" for animal care that is sent from the corporate office. I also bought one of my bettas from Petco. The other was from a smaller chain pet store called Kahoots. IMO, if anyone doesnt like the fact that I didnt get them...

I know that veil teils are considered the "basic" type of betta. I never got that as they are my favorite. I love the look of their fins as compared to HM's, CT's, Deltas, etc. I'm guessing its because VT's are the majority that are sold at LFS and chain stores? When they have healthy fins, man...

Yes, he is really pretty!! Arghhh...my computer just freezes everytime I try to upload pics. The same happens with photobucket :( AND I cant get a pic of his pearl pink body!!!! He turns that greenish blue in every pic!! Ugh, it's driving me nuts!! Haha
