So theres this "fuzz" collecting on the leaves of my swords...i do regular water changes...all lvls are cool....am i not changing enough water each time?? crazy eh?

i use Eco-Complete...its kinda expensive 24$ a 20lb bag...but it looks great as is and you just pour it in your tank...no hrs of cleaning substrate...YEAH.....!!!! its avail on Fosters&Smith....i highly reccomend it.

i totally agree w/ Loboto-Me...my gourami also love their own spots in the tank to hide and hang out in.

i have no floating plants in my gourami tank....they dont seem to mind.... i think you should do whatever makes the tank look good...i provide an open space for feeding and have plenty for hiding.... good luck!!!

your letting your gf decide if you can get another tank??? what color is your skirt?

so one of my thick- lipped is trying to build a bubble nest....i dont have the right conditions in the tank for it...but the lil bugger is still trying and hes become very terrortorial of the back corner of the tank. hes also doing a odd dance with one of the other thick-lipped...i assume they...

any suggestions on a good fish to keep driftwood clean?

and now for my 2 cents..... for the love of pete man...buy a bigger tank and stock it w/ gourami that solves all problems....

well one of my flames when mia...so he turned up today with what looks like a head injury...where he got it i dont know...its not Ich...doesnt look like a tumor or anything like that...looks like a skin abrasion..... None of the other fish show any signs of sickness....just him and his head...

:P good choice to set up an all gourami tank...i :wub: my gouramis..... But sad to say i have had a death :rip: and a flame has gone MIA...

i have noticed my 29 gln has adopted 2 little snails...i have read mixed reaction to keeping them...i dont wanna be inhumane and destroy them...but i dont think i want to house them either....any thoughts?

I have thought of putting large platties or similar 2-3" fish w/ my gouramis.... but fearful that they would make mince meat out of the other fish so i hesitate. i also fear that i will wake up or come home to dead fish because of fighting. Luckly not the case..all my gourami seem to get...

i recently bought a piece of driftwood from a lfs....any tips on how to get the damn thing to sink besides weighting it down...i think i am supposed to let it soak in water till it sinks...any ideas?

well reading into other posts here i think i was just overreacting to the natural cycle process...as i have read it seems to take FOREVER for the niTRITES lvls to fall...as they say 'a watched pot never boils'.....

i have a nitrite reading before i used my own water...it gets worse after i do a water change using that water...the bottle water has no nitrite reading(tested right from the bottle itself not in the tank) as does my own water..so something must be up with my water.....
