powder staying in corner

one of my gourami's (neon blue) keeps hiding behind plants and just staying still in the corner of the tank

I have a powder blue dwarf gourami and two red flame dwarf gouramis and they do the same thing. They seem to scare easily and I hardly ever see them come out until it's chow time.

I find that Gouramis like to have their own hidey holes, especially love to have overhead plant cover for some reason. When I trim back one of my "wild" plants, uncovering the top of my aquarium, my powder blue seems very unhappy. Once the plant grows back and starts covering the top of the tank again, you will find him swimming happily underneath the coverage.

They seem happiest when they knnw they have a little "home" to swim to if they want it.

i totally agree w/ Loboto-Me...my gourami also love their own spots in the tank to hide and hang out in.
