i have upgraded my external filters to 1 xp4, so i have for sale a fluval 304 and a 205. sold together or seperately, they come with carbon and sponges and original valves and hoses and in perfect working order. collection from stevenston, ayrshire, scotland i can post using parcel2go (dhl)...

does anyone have the marina rock backgrounds, i was hoping to see them in the tank or out the box to get a better idea what they look like, the places that sell them just show them in the box.

hey smeg, can you give me a picture of the item out of the box also can it be used horizontally or vertically ? also do you need to empty the aquarium to fit these with silicone and then let them dry before refilling with water and fish ?

i have read a lot of the preople from the states raving about their ac110 hand on back aquaclear filters and they seem pretty cheap, why is it these filters are not available in the UK, i searched ebay and no ac110 can be found in the uk or in fish stores. just curious :blink:

ah cheers i knew i had heard of something like that before, i went to the beach today and there is millions of rocks but many are very porous and volcanic like, some may be effective but am i right in thinking its best to stick to smooth hard rocks. i got a few small ones but nothing special

yeah i have 2 bits of slate which i aquired with my setup, the limestone on my tank is a bit bulky so i want to get some slimmer stuff in

i have my malawi tank 55g juwel vision 260 decorated with some limestone, i want to do something more interesting without spending a fortune on tuffa and sea rock from the fish shop, so what rocks can i buy from where or free that i can use in my tank and will be very nice, some example pictures...

tolak that is a great idea :good: sice posting this thread i found that aquaclear powerheads have an attachment you can buy that holds a sponge filter so £6 delivered from ebay, so i ordered one, will save trying to make something though tolaks idea is ace

cheers colin, ill try and get a globe at my LFS, ill skip the refectors as im not keeping plants and 2 globes should be plenty to show off my fish. my juwel vision 260 hood's design and material does not make it possible to paint so ill stick with 2 globes, cheers for the advice :good:

UPDATE :drool: i have modifed the output and return tubing on my fluval 304, when i checked it as standard i got about 600lph, quoted is 1000lph, after my modifications i am now getting 820lph so all in all a worth while excercise although still not near what fluval specify, also when i did...

i have a juwel vision 260 tank and my external filters are fluval 205 and 304, i could do with more water movement, i have a powerhead ph402 i think by aquaclear, i got it with my second hand set up but i think the previous keeper used it just to move water, can i use the powerhead as some kind...

years ago i tried this with a fluval external number 4 (the big one) i measure the flow rate the tank was getting and it was nowhere near what the fulval spec was, after much experimenting and checking flow rates i found that the thinner hose on the supply side was not even supplying enough...

hi thanks for the reply, yes the globe is the coral sun actinic 420 blue, should i just change this for another globe, i am not sure which brands are available to me locally, so is any 10.000k globe ok or does it need to be any specific kind for my malawi fish to show off their colours better ...

well i may measure the water flow with and without the ball and see if i notice any difference. would i be right in thinking the self priming feature will njo0 longer work if i remove the ball ? i did not use vaseline ill get some tonight and try it round the seal, , i did check the seal and it...

i bought a full malawi set up tank, filters and fish ie the lot, the 2 external filters are a fluval 205 and a 304, both had charcoal in them but i removed them, the other filter media in each is the standard sponges and biomax rings which are standard with the fluvals. There are 3 chambers in...

its finally quieter, after topping it up a few times and then shaking it its reasonably quiet now however it does have a slight leak round where the head fits onto the canister, i assume it will be the big seal needing replacing then ? also what does them ball things do at the intake strainer ...

thanks , however it has the 1 handle that opens and shuts both valves at the same time so i am unable to open the inlet and then the outlet, ill try filling with water and holding it at an angle to see if it helps but i have been shaking it and titling it but no joy.
